It wouldn't have been an easy life for him back then, and I'm glad they brought him back to be buried in this beautiful place. Thank you for Patrick's story, GV.

Such a lovely graveyard. So full of history. Unfortunately for giants, they don’t tend to live long. He likely had a tumor on his pituitary gland which controls growth hormone. They lead physically challenging lives and often resort to making a living in circuses. I hope he rests in peace. Great surname however. Matches my own…

These "giants" are impressive when you see them in person. I knew another "giant" at 7' 2" who lived in my area for his last 20 or so years, Richard Kiel. The only villain, "Jaws", to appear in 2 James Bond movies. A gentle giant and a very kind man. He passed in 2014 and is buried in a simple grave in Fresno, CA.

Nice remembering of Patrick Murry. I have degenerative disc disease and young woman I was 5'10". Now I am 5'9". The taller a person is the more bone problems can occur. That is my doctors explanation of my shrinking down so much. Perhaps Mr. Murray had the same issue. He had a cane. Thank you for sharing.

The body of Admiral Nelson was brought home in a barrel of rum to preserve his body. (Strong alcohol is a preservative). They probably did the same for Patrick Murphy.

Great story about Patrick Murphy. I love the Celtic cross at the top of his grave. It is beautiful. I forget how green Northern Ireland is. I liked this graveyard with the very old church. The best were the headstones that looked run-of-the-mill but the designs at the tops of each were intricate, unique cut designs. Very pretty - all of it. ♥️☘️

GV I wonder about these grave burials inside these small churches and it doesn't seem to make sense to me to bury people in them when it was in use, so perhaps people got permission to be buried after it was de-consecrated and closed, just thinking? lovely video thanks x

About that tombstone to which a later brass plaque was added, the brass was so highly reflective of the mass of clover in front of it, that when I first saw it, I thought a perfect rectangular hole had been cut in the stone; and that I was looking through it to more clover beyond!

Yes he would have been embalmed and placed in a lead lined coffin the embalming would have preserved the body from decomposing and the lead would have kept the body cooled and sealed the embalming fluid would have a lot of dangerous chemicals in it at that time arsenic zinc cyanid formal Hyde The poor old giant won't have lived long at that time and the immune system would have been poor they would have a lot of leg trouble slow blood flow prone to cloths and injuries would have been slow to heal dew to great size they be prone to falls gigantism was caused be cancer at the pruturity gland at the base of the brain it is now treatable by radiation and drugs so we wont have as many giants in the future Great work guys
