Yo, sadly the orginal Dylan Guptill video ran into some monetization issues due to a certain bad word showing up in it on top of a false copyright flag that was limiting what countries could see it, so I fixed the issues and reuploaded it today. It really sucks but if you could be sure to go and like and watch the video if you haven't already. Hopefully, there won't be any more issues with it as this happened weeks after the initial upload lol. Anyway sorry for the reupload, new content coming soon!

He seems like he's a well meaning and generally decent guy, but he's a complete prude and kind of obnoxious in the ways in which he explained many of his views regardless of whether or not he had good points. In a lot of cases he was the classic "old man yells at cloud" well still being in his early 20's. Most of his content is undoubtedly cringy, but in a more charming way that only old videos on the internet can truly capture. Honestly good on him for still making videos. He's no Chris-chan, he clearly learned and grew up, and improved as a content creator too.

On the last upload of this video a made a comment saying "while I appreciate the content I feel as if a 2 hour deep dive on Guptill seems a bit out there, because while he is an eccentric character, he's still mostly just a nice normal guy." I've had some time to think about this. The bit where Guptill does a way way way better Sonic impression than Spax3 does is so fucking funny it makes the whole thing worth it. I'll kneel.

Gonna reiterate what I said last time. No, I don’t think Guptil is a creep. Sonic characters are drawn in a way where discerning an age is difficult in most cases, the few exceptions being Cream and Tails and the like, none of which were on the list. The English VAs almost always sounding older than they’re meant to doesn’t help, and back in the day, you had to go out of your way to find that stuff out. They’re exaggerated cartoon animals, and the only time they’ve been anatomically correct is when Ken Penders got involved because the weirdo wanted to bang Sally

Man, this was a walk down memory lane. The old school commentary was one of the first internet communities I watched frequently, and so I was very familiar with a lot of the guptill bandwagoning. Hell, seeing savage broadcast unlocked a core memory as I remember watching some of his videos, and youngbloodfantasy91’s videos are some of the most nostalgic videos on KZbin for me. Obviously looking back now the whole situation really was just blown out of proportion, guptill definitely was partially responsible for his reputation, but glad he came back and is doing better, didn’t deserve the accusations. Crazy how much time can change people.

While I'm writing this, I'll repost a comment that I had left on the previous upload: I may not have seen any of his videos until recently, but I do find him pretty endearing. Sucks this had to be uploaded, but it's always great to revisit what a weird pearl clutcher this guy was.
