That one was good, and don't forget the Coke ad Bill did where he was working late, forgot his wallet, and was looking for anyone with some spare change for the Coke machine as that one was good as well. Funny thing is in reality is they did not even have Coke machines in the MS buildings at the time, just cases, and cases of free Coke products for the employees in the break rooms.

I remember an infamous Microsoft tv ad with the copy «thank god, it's Monday», or words to that effect. It showed people who couldn't wait to get back to their offices on Monday. It was hilarious and caused quite the consumer outrage. But I can't seem to find anything about it...

What makes these videos appealing is not because they where cool, like Apple ads. But because they where so very very uncool. Its the 90s pre-internet version of a "Nerd", and it kinda makes them a bit more human. That Microsoft really is just a bunch of very talented nerds with slightly broken social skills instead of a mindless corporation with an all powerful marketing department Truth is, there WAS an all powerful marketing dept, and that was actually what they where after. After all who would the customer trust with upgradin.g their PC more? Some useless marketing droid, or the turbonerd with scratched glasses, scruffy beard, and a PhD in CompSci? Although THAT marketing assumption probably was a bad one with Songsmith (Thats where you instead hire some well known pop star, and get them to come up with something far less cheesy. Oh and if you haven't seen it, look it up, its terrifying.)
