The Black Crowes haven’t released new records since 2009. Surprisingly it was released recently 1972, the first EP of the band that rereads six tracks originally released in 1972. The line-up is the original one and the two Robinson brothers are in great shape. A welcome gift for fans of the Atlanta band, but also a rock'n'roll record in the most classic Black Crowes style.

The Stones ripped off southern American blues. The Black Crowes (from the American south) are in pure musical form. That's their native sound.

@@Corpus_Callosum so because they're not from the place the music originated they had no right to play the style of music they really enjoyed ? That's what you're saying, to me that sounds a little insane 🤷‍♂️

Like all great bands they can cover anything check out , Feelin alright, 99lbs , Jealous guy, Midnight Rambler , Lovin cup , all posted on YT . Whoa... (( Short story )) I had a BEYOND Crazy childhood. I lived & Went to school from Miami to Atlanta, & Cali. { 3, 4. ? Schools. } My Aunt ,Uncle, & cousins, Lived right down the street from the Robinson bros, I didn't even know they were WAY into Music, ( IT saved my life ) I can tell you Sooo many stories. Espically Chris. He was a natural comedian ! & Allways tried to start a fight W/ me ! ( Never happened ) My Dad kept moving, So ... The only glue to that neighborhood was the SOLID family I allready mentioned. Fast forward a few decades, The first time I heard them on the radio , I. KNEW it was them ! I started Gigging/ Recording touring. Well we ended up playing some Outdoor show, & They boath remembered me !! But 72 ?? OK... That's REALLY Early for them. They were the first guys I knew to "Make it" Things in the industry are Sooo different now. BTW, This sounds GREAT !!

I like it. That said, making a record like this with its throw-back lo-fi rock n roll sound just doesn't sound right when recorded digitally. There's no NOISE! And noise is where all the magic happens. You can say this for most other recordings, but especially so with this genre of music. Go back to a huge old Neve console and 2" tape and have at it. That's rock n roll!

Ahhh, I still love my LPs, but I'd rather have some actual dynamics as opposed to moments like the "Turn it up" on 'Sweet Home Alabama' when instead you can hear the AM radio compression kick in.

Me suena a regreso forzado.

@@erikjromano no hate here, just sadness. I've been a fan of the band since '89 and have seen them play live a number of times. They are not that band anymore and it makes me sad to see how they pissed their career and longevity away. Chris and Rich killed the greatest band through their greed and selfishness. Who in their right mind, when offered the chance to play, record and tour with Jimmy Page and work in brand new songs together, says no thanks we're good?!! Way to shoot yourself and your band and your livelihood in the foot Rich.
