From a guitarists perspective: Tbdm riffs are addictive as hell to play. Very unique.

They are super fun, yes.

I would say they're a benchmark in learning for modern metal guitarists right now. You can learn a lot stuff from them and Deathmask Divine, and Vermonous are my favorite riffs to learn. They're so addictive.

Props for picking I only worship what you bleed out of Nocturnal. Underrated song, 2min of pure brutality and so tasty !

Absolutely amazing band, just recently went back to them and man the drums are insane

Completely agree. Some of these songs were unexpectedly difficult.

Alan Cassidy is a wizard for sure. Another band I recommend that he also happens to play drums for is Slugdge. Great band and their album Esoteric Malacology is a great starting point.

How many people would say that Black Dahlia has the BEST guitar players in the game? I’m a casual fan of them, but their playing always highly impresses me.

They're a fantastic band, but to say they have the best guitar players in the game is quite a stretch. The guys in Suffocation, Psycroptic, Archspire, Beyond Creation etc. blow them out out of the water. There's a difference between guitarists being your favorite and being technically proficient with the instrument. The guys in TBDM don't even touch most tech-death band's guitarists. As a guitarist for over 20 years your comment just doesn't make much sense, unless bias is involved.

honestly cannot get into anything after everblack, their new guitarist just doesn't have the feel that the previous ones did. He even ruins all the great old songs when he plays live with his vibrato obsession
@jojoplaysmusic3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I do feel Brandon overdoes it very often, as opposed to playing to the song. And that goes over the last 2 albums in which Brian’s sound is less apparent than his.

If you can listen to Removal of the Oaken Stake and then tell me Brandon Ellis has no feel, then you just don't know what you're talking about, my dude.
