Oh, my. Poor Lance is being such a Grinch. Lance, take a few deep breaths and relax. To make the tree perfect, put your heart into it and decorate it to the nines. We've had some pretty ratty trees over the years, but with a master's touch on the decorations, no one ever knew. You can do it, I know you can. I have great faith in your talents.

I love it! There's no such thing as over-the-top, when it comes to Christmas. Stereotypically speaking, your home looks like the home of a married gay couple, which is just the way it should look, in my opinion. As to the decorating itself, I've been doing it with my partner for MANY years.
