It would be too convenient for the Traitor to be one of the commanders in the meeting at the beginning of this episode... What if it was one of the girls (again, using the word 'Traitor' very lithely)?

@@tehpw7574 nope can't see it, well I suppose it could just possibly be the Princess but I find that highly unlikely, we had an insight into Redford's mind not long ago so it's clearly not him, If it were Cynthia she would have almost certainly done something to cause their mission to catch the Noirnavio to fail, likewise Clara would not have sent them to perform such a mission or would have done something at Woodshaft to disrupt the negotiations

I do find it interesting that Lucax is not part of the cabal. After all if 1 of the traitor's is 1 of 2 main people doing the searching for traitor's it would be easier to escape detection. There's too much evidence against either Cynthia or Clara being tratiors. It's unlikely that Juliana is a tratior due to how much she's trying to protect Wyatt and is a Windfield. A house that's seems to be eternally loyal to house Astor. If I were playing devils advocate I would say that if Juliana is a tratior, she wants to have Wyatt join Cornelius's side.

Nice to come back to this after the relevations from Chapter 23. I wonder, if anybody following The Black Ship up until this point can catch any possible clues about the possible outcome of the traitor-plot... I seriously doubt it, even if in retrospect all postions in the council DO seem to be thougth throug in a sensible and cunningly realistc manner by the author. NO AI COULD COME UP WITH THAT KIND OF INTELLIGENT CONSITENCY chapters in advance... Nor could less talented writers compose such convincing webs of interests. I am impressed.

This was yet another great chapter. Didn't like the Nobels being stupid nobles at the beginning. I liked them including Wyatt in their little cabal. Wyatt's reaction was the Wyatt I came to know and love. His mask is back on. His tactical mind will be the tactical mine the Prince needs, just who will be injured when that mine goes off will be great to discover. Keep it up.

It's interesting to see how this chapter starts with the leading command staff that the Prince has having a meeting starting with the captured Drazin destroyer. I do love how Juliana roasts George Lintare about all his talking is torturing them. 😂😂 Well I am somewhat surprised that 1 persons suspudion that the Quantum entanglement communication device was found in Wyatt's room turned out right. Interesting how Prince, Redford, Juliana, Cynthia and Clara are using this sloppy move to there advantage on the tratior. It's interesting that Lucax is not part of this secret plan. It was smart for Prince for not taking part of the meeting yo help keep the act up more effectively. I should have not been suprised that Wyatt's recounting his experience of being captured by the Drazin was recorded by Cynthia. I am in agreement with Juliana in thats a miracle that Wyatt is as fundamental as he is due to his PTSD. In different circumstances Wyatt would make a good Royal Marine. Now Redford, Clara and Prince can better help guide and mold Wyatt into a champion of the Principality and House Astor. I do like how Clara decides to take a page out of Wyatt's hand book by treating there situation with the traitors. By deciding to have Wyatt included in their plan to reveal the tratior. Especially since they would never expect Prince to include in him in his plan. I do like the funny scene where Juliana asks Prince if she can recruit Wyatt into her house and the Prince denied her request. Basically implying that he is intending to bring Wyatt into his house. It's hilarious how Redford teasing Clara for insisting to coming with him to explain there plan to Wyatt. 😂 It truly seems that Clara's catch phrase is "Shush you!" Wyatt's lucky his implant replacement was done while asleep. I do like Wyatt's thoughts on Clara and Cynthia after being with them for few weeks. I do love how surprised Wyatt is when he has a title as Woodshaft's Ace. I do like how Redford, Clara and Cynthia can better deal with Wyatt's emotional baggage with knowing it. I do love Wyatt's dumbfounded reaction that Redford bows his head to him showing his thanks for his actions controlling the Noir. I do love how Clara orders him not to blindly obay her brothers order. I do love how Wyatt almost to has a blue screen of death realizing that they consider him valuable to them and there using starfighter tactics. Great way to end the chapter with Wyatt deciding to put his own spin on their sneaky plan. 😊

Also I think those that she uses that phrase with are not being rude it's more that they are quietly pointing out to her what might be small faults

Another excellent chapter. The machinations of the nobles who hate Waytt and those that are the true traitors will come to bite them in the ass by the teeth of a commoner. While the intrigue and plans of the Royals and noble who have come to see Waytt as a friend are shining light within the stuffy upper class of nobleility. Whose ranks, for the most part, have become so bloated with arrogance, power-mad, over-bearing, self-absorbed, selfish, and disrespectful of those they should appreciate. In the end they wouldn't know what being truly noble really means if it punched them in their up-turned snoot. I wonder if a revolution is coming to the nobles... Of course, that would mean a true civil war as the very entrenched nobles fear losing their posh postisions of power. Which is not something the prince nor the principality could ill afford after the treachery of his uncle. It would be nice to see the nobles as a whole, actually learn a thing or two from Waytt about what it truly means to be noble. The future of Waytt is in the hands of our vaulted author and since he has yet to let us down I am positive that the further adventures of Waytt Staples will continue to a satisfying conclusion after many, many more chapters and much more intregue. It is a good thing our much loved author has created Waytt as such a strong main character for his strength of character will outshine most nobles and his honor will be one day seen without question or so one can hope.

I am betting on Lukax being the trader. He said after Interrogating the comander of the battle cruiser, he knew nothing of the black ship's. But we found out from Urial hoax otherwise that the battle cruiser was most likely escorting the Nora navio. Also he could enter Wyatts room and hide it and find it at the same time. So computer records would show him entering only once. Much less be able to wipe them should it be necessary. As to why Wyatt shot Samuel Cayston. It reminded him of what he saw as a child. A noble selling out people to save his skin. And we all know happen after that. I do hope the Intrigue last for a while so we can see how many Wyatt gets.😊

So as of around 3am UK time this morning the Author tells me that Chapter 22 is done, allowing time for #scifistories1977 to convert to speech, add pictures and upload I hope to be able to listen to it later today or worst case tomorrow, there was apparently a delay due to a fault with the Authors PC which is now fixed. I'm just hoping that Wyatts "Tactical Mine" is as effective in this field of subterfuge and politics as the ones he drops from his raptor in space.

Wyatt loves using tactical mines when he fights in his fighter. So he is saying he'll be a tactical mine by being launched by the Prince and waiting for the time the traitors shall reveal themselves and like a mine he shall lock unto them, and explode or bring them down. *Tactical mines: explosives that can be set in place usually in water to block a certain water way. To prevent ships from passing through. In Wyatts case its in space. It can be placed in a certain area for traffic and can use electro-magnetism to attach itself to a hull of a ship. At this point with the Winfield's talking about wanting to make him a knight I assume the prince has a much better reward in mind maybe something along the line of making him a knight of the royal house also since we have something along the lines of royal marines maybe the royal fighter squad kind of like the rebellion from star wars rogue squadron the best of the best only can join based on talent alone

I'm with you on this, by al lthe normal considerations Wyatt has certainly earned an enoblement, I'm going to guess and say this turn of events will ... upset a bunch more nobles. So when it's done they need to either at a minimum knight him or send him off on a mission far away from others or both. I'm still hoping he gets to be a Knight Banneret as traditionally that was a form of knighthood earned by incredible heroics and witnessed directly by the ruler or his immediate representative, Wyatt qualifies for this twice. (a recording these days would be sufficient). So I'm hoping when this "episode" is over that Wyatt gets knighted but I would not be surprised if he gets sent off in the Black Ship, as an Aid to Clara and Cynthia with some of the old crew who he saved, plus maybe some from Woodshaft on some secret behind the lines type work with Clara making contact with potential allies essentially under the very nose of the Duke . The alternative is that Cynthia gets lent out a bit more until she finishes teaching Wyatt about duelling. Because no one in their right mind is going to fight her LOL

Actually a new position created for commoners would be the most excellent way of dealing with nobles too. Order of knights of the principality. This can only be given to a commoner who has achieved merit good enough to enter. This order can have nobles, royalty and existing order members vote to have new members be included but a member of the royal family agree to the recommendation. Members of the order would have all the rights of nobles without the ability to inherit in your generation. If a second generation were to join this order the family then could be converted to noble status. Unless a noble or royal married the knight that would be the only way of a first generation getting noble status. Of course the knights still have to answer to royalty. But creating this gives wyatt something that will prevent the nobles from touching him. At same time of few rules to protect the nobles and their ability to control territory which the knights can't might go along way to lessen their fears
