I agreed (past tense) for a long time. My family and extended family all agreed. We all tapped out at season 5, except mom who hung on til season 6. A coworker who ONLY recommends BANGERs was watching season 9 when I came over for dinner, and I asked, “How are you a fan of this?” Go back and watch season 1, episode 1. There were seeds, plot lines, and threads pulled in the first episode & first season that get pulled in season 5, 6, and beyond. I’m rewatching now, and completely obsessed. I love James Spader (not gonna deny the bias), but a rewatching will make you appreciate and love the attention to detail & good writing.

The song by Nina Simone..."Sinnerman"...excellent song... the same song was also used in the 1999 movie "The Thomas Crown Affair"...clever use of the song as both song and the scenes were of the main character pulling a ruse of sorts over law enforcement trying to observe "them". Blacklist directors and producers are clever AF!

yeah, I feel sorry for the actress sometimes....great actress, but the writing sucks, where she's constantly emotionally flip-flopping dramatically. [Spoiler alert, do not continue reading if you haven't seen the last couple seasons] . . . . Although ye, I shed a few tears for the emotions in the scene she died, I was glad it happened. Writing made her an extremely annoying character throughout the series. So glad that it actually frustrated me that the most recent season surrounded her death so hardcore. Just wanted her to be gone entirely, instead of everyone mentioning "The death of Liz...."..."Elizabeth wouldn't have wanted that...."....blah blah blah....at least once every episode.

You realize stock sound effects are a thing, right? You can find them everywhere. Pay attention to anything with a bear. You will hear the same stupid bear roar stock sound effect that's been used in TV shows, movies, games, etc. for at least 30 years.

Robert California is Spaders best character. Multiple generations have and were exposed to that character and he went completely over everyone's heads. People are talking about how this show went off the rails after season 5 but I counter that with rewatching the ball dropping, nearly malevolent way he goes about purposefully ruining everything he comes into contact with during his stint on The Office. You don't even know his real name. He's the fucking lizard king. The logical conclusion to capitalism summed up perfectly in one disturbingly charming individual. Long live Mr. Cali-fucking-fornia.

@@MPDLR No but they didn't have to. Think about it like this: How many Sci Fi tropes and whatnot are in Rick and Morty? Hundreds upon hundreds. Sitting down and enumerating them all would be an exercise in futility (although i'm sure there's some sorry fool in a basement somewhere trying.) The fact that they included scene is... the equivalent of a fencers salute. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Did you not actually watch the episode? Ressler sold him out to the RCMP. Red was there to help them, and Ressler went behind his back, double-crossed him, and told the Canadian police he'd be there so after they got the information they wanted out of him, the RCMP would rush in and arrest him. Red realized this when he noticed the employees were all watching him.

But last week I saw an interview, well a clip from Jimmy Fallon from 6 months ago or at least it was posted 6 months ago, where James Spader announced it was being picked up for a 10th season on Peacock. But I checked on there yesterday to see if it was on there and it wasn't! So please tell me which season's final episode you were referring to. Honestly with this season so far, I've been saying I may not even care if I don't get to watch S10, the way it's going. I don't like Dembe not being Raymond's bodyguard and best friend.

That is the allusion, which is messed up. That whole Liz keen plot distorts and weighs down this show. They could have done better, there was so much potential. Spader is awesome, as are several other actors here.
