Instead of being a light hearted episode about people stealing a super abundant resource, instead this ends up being pretty much just about mafia murders. If you LOVE murder, this one is worth a watch. And who doesn't LOVE murder?

Star Wars is extremely overhyped due to the nostalgia. When Star Wars first came out, there was nothing else like it. The issue is that the movies are as wide as as ocean, but as deep as a puddle. Episode 4 (the first movie) supposed to be a cowboy movie in space and nothing else. This has made the franchise really dull as there is no other story to tell and every time Lucas tried to expand the universe to make a new story, the fans rebelled because they have nostalgia for that 1 story. The books are exempt to this though. The books apparently have one of the deepest lore of any sci-fi series.
@caniscerulean
@caniscerulean 4 жыл бұрын
@@mattbenz99 I just re-watched Eps 1-3, and I actually felt they held up better than the criticisms about them. Jar-Jar is annoying, but fair slapstick comic relief, the Senate scenes are good commentary on how easy it can be to manipulate bureaucracy for personal gain, and don't really take up THAT much screen time. (Have you ever read the Silmarillion? Interesting background on the Middle-Earth Tolkien created, well hidden in page after page after page of pure insomnia cure.) The main criticism I agree with for the prequels is how much of a whiny little prat Anakin is in 2-3. What happened to the pure little boy on Tatooine? This spoiled little spaz is going to become the terror of the galaxy?

I know it sounds crazy, but when I deployed to Iraq the first time, I was so surprised by the texture of the sand. It was like baby powder. The only reason I noticed it so quickly was probably because of how much I'd been told about it beforehand. That's right folks, the US military is talking about sand texture behind closed doors.
@hawlitakerful
@hawlitakerful 4 жыл бұрын
Isn't ground texture actually a rather important thing to discuss in a military way like how easy one can you cross a spot of land with heavy armored vehicles for example?
@ColeyDuncan
@ColeyDuncan 4 жыл бұрын
@@hawlitakerful Yes, when you're going to be going on convoys, that's something that's somewhat addressed. But even with that, it's basically telling you to stay in the middle of the road and away from the shoulder. Sadly, too many people are lucky enough to avoid injuries from IEDs and gunfights, to be severely injured or killed because the driver is overworked and exhausted, then loses focus for a few seconds and there's a rollover. Unless everyone else in the vehicle is on point and remembers rollover drills, a gunner likely won't walk away. But the people who receive that training are those who will be doing convoys. A great deal of people (probably the majority) never leave the base until they go home and will never convoy. But anyone who has ever been to Iraq can tell you about how powdery the sand is. It's that much different than anywhere most have ever seen.

Desert sand grains are too smooth thereby making it worthless for cement. Sand created by water is irregular shaped making it better for cement because it wouldn't crumble like desert sand would. Bonus fact: Ancient Rome had a stronger concrete that was better underwater than modern concrete. We have not been able to replicate their formula, but make up for our lack of such strength with rebar reinforcements. -Btw, this is yet another incident where an advanced technology existed in the past, that has been lost. I’ve worked in QC in the concrete industry for a decade. Unless there’s an issue with alkali-silica reactivity, which is an issue in places like NJ and can reduce the functional lifespan of concrete by 30-50%, jobs often use manufactured fine aggregate. It’s essentially the same limestone used as coarse aggregates in concrete, but processed to pass the fine gradation test standards for sand.

The hallmark of Business Blaze, omission of a link to anything that the video states will be "linked below." At least add a rick-roll to the description template that you paste into every video with a nice generic label like "The link I mentioned: kzbin.info/www/bejne/moLaZapvjMyLmbM" I'm just taking the piss. 😉 Great videos Simon!

To say that Jamaica is corrupt is an understatement. Last time I was visiting family there, I saw my uncle pay off the traffic cop because a bribe is cheaper than a speeding ticket. It's literally standard practice there.

Fun fact: The US military shipped WHITE BEACH SAND to the DESERT of Iraq after the invasion in 2005. Why? Because the higher up military members wanted to play Volleyball and needed better sand to do so. They also shipped in 500 LaZboy's to sit in so they could watch the Volleyball games... American Tax Dollars in Action. Thank you Pentagon.

Man you watched *Return of the Jedi* - the 3rd installment and the *weakest by far* of the Original Trilogy... plus, it was the 3rd part and conclusion, so you wouldn't have a clue what was happening or have any care of what the characters were about. Do yourself a favor and go back and watch the Original 'Star Wars' (now called Episode IV 'A New Hope') - pay no attention to the Episode IV - 'Star Wars' is the first and was just called 'Star Wars' when it came out in 1977. The first were really gritty and realistic and by 1983 - they had already crossed over into kiddie land with those stupid Ewok Teddy Bear costumes. The first two movies are nothing like that and the 2nd movie is a classic of grand proportions and besides 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' - is my favorite movie of all time. It changed my life when I was 5 years old in 1980. If you have even the slightest interest in good Sci-Fi - Check out the First 2 movies - 'Star Wars' (1977) and 'Empire Strikes Back' (1980) respectively... literally forget the rest ... (except I thought 'Rogue One' was pretty good). The rest are just marketing nightmares...

No. there is no glass covering my computer screen. There is, however, silicon in every integrated circuit chip in my computer. That takes sand, the really good white stuff. So, concrete, glass and IC chips. We wouldn't have much of the 21st century without them.

HEY SIMON! Concrete works by mixing in heavy sand and small rocks and lime. Water is the reaction chemical and heats it into rock more water when solid the better less cracking and such. Silly sand runs through the rock and doesn't hold. While heavy sand is better. Hope that helps out!
