One thing that trips me up about The Player's Club that I NEVER see anyone else complain about, is that during the argument scene with Diamond and Ebony outside the club and Ebony says "I know what happened between you and Ronnie......*chuckle*, they told me". The fact that Ebony KNOWS that Ronnie sexually assaulted Diamond and she still decided to be friends with Ronnie is a DIFFERENT LEVEL of crazy. Ebony didn't give a flying freak about her own cousin AT ALL. Knowing someone who SA'd your family member and you still decide to be cool with that person is a different level of diabolical.
@talktojamesАй бұрын
I’m thinking Ebony either knew the true details (and that is diabolical), or she was lied to by Ronnie and only thought they did some lesbian freak shit consensually.

This review has been a long time coming. I had to show id to see this movie in theaters. Here are some fun facts: St. Louis was played by the late Larry McCoy & Lance was played by Monte Russell. He was on the short lived forgotten HBO series Laurel Avenue. The bartender Tina was played by Traci C. Jones (Dashiki from Don’t Be A Menace). Lisa Raye & Monica Calhoun were also in Civil Brand & Gang of Roses. Bernie Mac & Badja Djola were also in Who’s The Man. Bernie Mac & Terrance Howard were also in Pride. Terrance Howard & Larry McCoy were also in Dead Presidents. Crystalie Wilson & Monica Calhoun were also in Trois 2: Pandora’s Box. The douche bag was played by Nigel Hatch. He played Malcolm X on The Godfather Of Harlem. I would love to see this movie get coverted into a series like The Best Man Final Chapters.

they show the Lance and Diamond break up, when Ebony came from the party with Ronnie, you hear them arguing about her working at the club..He tells her to stop stripping or he's gone....Diamond says "BYE" and her son says "Bye Lance" as Ebony walks in the house
@BlackMediaManCaveАй бұрын
I remember the scene. I went back and forth and including it because it appeared to be two different days based on diamonds outfit (unless of course she changed) and she tells the bartender that they broke up "that morning".... I wanted to stress how bad that one day was and it would have seemed weird if it appeared to be two different days. Looking at it now, it's possible it's the same day and she just changed out of her stripping clothes from the previous night.

Starting a movie from the end is good if the director amd writer knows how to write and direct! Look at rhe movie Gone Girl with Ben Affleck, starts at the end and have you hook, you don't know what is going on; plenty of k dramas are like this also, most American movies are becoming boring and redundant.
@TG5455Ай бұрын
You know what, you could be right about pole dancing being an Olympic sport because if break dancing was in the Olympics last summer then I can see pole dancing being in the Olympics too.
