@@AndysEastCoastAdventures While I don't watch the show much beyond the blind auditions, it's easily the best thing I've seen on The Voice. While he was never going to go very far in the show as it's a pop contest, it exposed a large audience to something that's beautiful, unique and extremely difficult to do. Well done to the producers for bringing on something that isn't commercial pop or rock. While the singers are all professionals beforehand and no one truly sucks like in Idol, The Voice Australia has not been that adventurous in terms of genres. For example, other countries have had death metal vocalists.

I've never watched the show beyond the 'blinds' as the show just turns into a pure competition. This guy is better than anything that's ever been on the show but because he is not a marketable popstar (which is what these shows are all about) there will be little they can do with him in the context of this show. He is already an established artist and Australia's only throat singer so hopefully the exposure will encourage more people to check him out. The Voice Australia usually plays it safe and rarely has diverse acts. Other countries go from pop to death metal.

@Doin
@Doin 4 жыл бұрын
The reason people are saying it is because The Voice is not about breaking musical and creative boundaries but, like Idol, finding someone they can market with a pop artist formula. They cannot do it with this guy, and nor should they. If anything, The Voice should be about showcasing people like this instead and encouraging mainstream audiences - especially the kids - to branch out in terms of what they listen to. The Voice Australia generally plays it safe. Almost everyone sings a safe commercial pop/rock tune. Other countries have had people doing death metal.

@@MikeAvoo Of course they should have turned. He has vocal abilities that the judges, despites their successful careers, do not have and would probably love to work with. As Guy said, he doesn't know what he would be able to teach him (and he would be right) - he just wants to get him into a studio and create. My comment had to do with people saying he doesn't belong on the show because he doesn't fit their formula of a popstar. However, as I said, this type of music is what The Voice should be about. Other countries push the envelope with the styles they include. The Voice Quebec had a guy do 'Stabwound' by technical death metal band, Necrophagist (the house band impressively managed to pull it off - watch someone do a guitar cover, it's extremely technical) and the judges turned.

@Adam Efimoff I do agree that The Voice is more interesting than Idol as all the entrants are, for the most part, professional singers to some degree, or at least have had training. They also have to audition for the producers whereas Idol allowed anyone who wanted to audition to do so leading to disasterous performances and comedy fodder.

As a musician and music lover, I listen to all styles of music, from all different cultures, from all time periods and that is simply one of the most beautiful pieces I have ever heard. Pure emotion....fragile, delicate and made me ache with longing for home and family. Transfixed and yet transported. Brought me to tears. Thankyou for sharing your gift. Magnificent!

People suddenly cry when they hear the throat singing part , but they don`t actually understand why; because its not an ordinary music, it touches your soul instantly , it elevates you to another level that opens your third eye like in shamanic rituals, makes you feel joy, love, regret... everything at once Just perfect !
