Or in a more cynical view, they're still fresh and focusing on pitching cool and fun ideas for players. In contrast to CDPR, who are slowly moving into pitching PR garbage to investors and being a magnet for sleazy business bureaucracy like Bioware and Ubisoft are now. Many people who enjoy and praise Cyberpunk today seems to forget or never knew how much of a disaster the release was.

Never forgot that release of Cyberpunk 2077 even those who saw the release even when they bought the game just like me waited for months for more patches nobody forgot about Gollum either to be fair. CD Project Red still has time to prove they can still hang with the likes of Rockstar games even with Cyberpunk 2077 2 or rather Project Orion or The Witcher remake the witcher 4 even though I am not getting it. The only thing I definitely not getting is their multiplayer game set in the witcher world. That's going to be a miss just as much I think Elden Ring Nightreign is going to be a huge miss.

@@clarenceriley6050 Yeah, at night he is using Claws, during Daytime he is using a Sword. So it looks very intersting, how they will iron out these systems. Lots of potential. Especially that the devs mentioned, that Fallout 2 is their paragon for narrative open worlds. If they do it right, you will have tons of replayability.

The idea of a narrative sandbox sounds fantastic and does remind me of MM, I like the idea that main quests and side quests are not distinguished and the fact that they are also open ended makes it even more interesting, it’s ambitious and risky but the director is the same guy who directed the Witcher 3 so I guess he and his team have the experience to back it up.

I'm hoping the day and night cycle is decently long and not like a day goes by in 24 mins like some games. Maybe like a day takes an hour irl time but then you have missions that depending on what you do or what they are in general can make time pass for a day or two so you have to have some time management while also being forgiving enough for people who don't really like the time crunch. Or maybe that can be part of the difficulty settings, like easy makes the time between days longer and obviously combat is easier and then normal is obviously the way its supposed to be played and then hard makes everything harder and the days shorter

Oh man, I definitely do. It had some rough edges and the story was fairly weak, but the gameplay was alot of fun. Didn't play the sequel since it sounded worse than the OG. It's interesting how few really good action/action-rpgs there are where the playable character is a vampire. Seems like a natural fit for video games. The last really good one I can remember is Castlevania Lords of Shadow.

Main character is called Coen (yes, like the witcher who helped train Ciri in the witcher novels), and due to having silver poisoning thanks to his past as a silver miner, wasn't fully turned into a vampire, becoming essentially like the character of Blade, human during the day, and vampire during the night.

I've seen some people complaining about the time limit, i say, 30 days with their nights, and they pass only when you clear an important quest... that's around 60 quests for a playthrough, and you will not be able to do all in one game so can you imagine how big is this game gonna be? It's very ambitious but i'm so excited.

I am pretty undecided wheter I like it or not - it might be great for tension and additional playthroughs. But then, on the other hand, I hate time limits in general. I play video games to have fun, not be part of any simulation. Open World without the option to just run around and do bullshit when I feel like it is less appealing to my player type, I guess. I will give that game a chance nonetheless. It seems to be an amazing idea and I am willing to let go of my random roaming around and doing 500 side quests if the story carries it for me.

@murphieslaw6932 again, it's not a time limit, many games have this mechanic, it's a mechanic that simply whenever you finish a quest (there is not going to be main quests or side quests in this game) you pass to the next night/day depending. We are talking about 30 days, that's 30 days and 30 nights so at least 60 quests, that's way more than TW3 main quests

My guess is that he's not a full vampire. Either a thrall granted minor powers or a fledgling vampire. (A new/weaker vampire) I would assume that the story is probably gonna go the route of: Villains save guy and his sister, guy does stuff to help villains to repay them, so on so on so on, guy realizes the villains are...well, villans after they do villanous stuff, and he turns on them. And then he's reunited with his sister and either tries to cure her or has to kill her cause shes gone full vamp and so on. Thats just my basic assumption of what the story might be. Blandness aside, would still love to see how it plays out and how it feels to play. Can't wait for it to come out.

I can't wait to hear more. Always loved vampire side quests in games like Skyrim and The Witcher etc. Vampyr is also worth mentioning, and V Rising. I'm also replaying Bloodlines on the Steam Deck. The Witcher 3 is still my favourite game of all time, Dawnwalker looks incredible.

"...as well as having fantastic gameplay" Witcher 3 is routinely criticized for having shallow, boring game play that is mostly carried by the story and characters. I personally got very tired of the shallow, mass appeal style of combat in the game. I had it on death march (highest difficulty) and beat most things comfortably doing dodge, light attack with occasional quen (shield) and igni (fireball). It was anything but fantastic and tons of people online agree. I have yet to see a person praising the braindead gameplay that is found within Witcher 3.

I gotta agree with you. Witcher 3 combat could've been better. Like maybe different styles of swordplay from different schools would be nice, and combat encounters being more engaging rather than ramping the enemies health and attack for higher difficulty. But I gotta say, the combat is satisfying enough, especially when you consider the game's excellent characters, narrative, and quests. Witcher 3 is one of the gold standard for side quests, it literally made dragon quest inquisition unplayable for me just because of the side quests.

They don't seem to be using telekinesis, it's blood manipulation, you see the blonde use it to block the sword and the guy is pulled off his horse by a rope of blood, finally the guy that explodes is visibly bleeding right before, as if his blood is being pulled out of his body in all directions. Seems like we'll be controlling blood for combat, fucking sick. Maybe, oh damn, idea, maybe as you kill enemies and the area gets more covered in blood these abilities become more powerful in relation to the amount of blood on the ground. Longer a fight goes, the wider your attacks go, range attacks reach farther, etc.

The priorities I see being pursued here by these ex developers from CDPR which I’m pretty convinced where the actual talent for the Witcher games… are priorities of authentic escape. And that priority is key to a authentic entertainment product because entertainment by its literal definition is appealing escape. Any integration of relevancy destroys that escape and leaves you with a disingenuous and inauthentic product. So what I see rebel wolves doing here is very exciting and I wish them Godspeed

I hope the game is good. but I don't know man. time limit kinda deal breaker. It is an open world RPG. Game like that mostly I take my time to play with leisure. I keep my hype grounded for this one. so far nothing impress me except the voice acting.

It's visually pretty reminiscent of The Witcher. There's a distant landscape scene that shows UE5's obvious advantages over REDengine though. Not keen on plot-driven time limits generally, have to wait to know more about how the game's structured and whether it stands up top repeated play or not.
