I bought this and so many other cutting edge at the time cds in a little store off 3rd Street in Santa Monica. Miss it but wouldn't want to be there now! Starying on my land in Texas.

Had this when it first came out it was something about that guitar and his talk singing so original maybe that's the wrong word but I had previously listened to REM E-bow The Letter kinda makes me think maybe they were listening to The Blue Areoplanes a few hundred times .

this song sounds so familiar. has someone covered it recently?

REM (who I love, to be fair) completely ripped the tune off for E Bow The Letter. Just slowed it down and lowered the key. Michael Stipe had a cameo on the Swagger album.

If you had any idea what you were on about, you would know that these people were doing their thing long before anyone had heard of REM. Go home, whining fanboy.
