Hi! I've been researching a lot also and it seems that the blue water lily (Nymphaea caerulea) really is the one they used in Egypt because it comes from this part of the world, whereas the Blue Lotus (Nelumbo Nucifera) comes from continental Asia and so it's more connected to Hindu and Buddhist traditions

the lily behaves very like the lotus ... it is a rebirth plant and has a similar lifecycle to lotuses ..as well as similar roots .. in Egypt ... where I live ... we refer to this flower as a lotus ..it is a lily ..but the symbology and lifecycle is very similar to the lotus. the important thing is of a flower that arises out of the mud and emerges from the water .. rebirthing regularly ... .this is the heart of the lotus teaching and is the same for the water lily of egypt

I was just researching this difference, and it seems that there are no true blue lotuses. Lotuses are white or pink. So it would have been the blue water lily apparently.

@@songlinerevelations Beautiful Country. Ancient Egypt is history itself. I’m 49 and it’s captivated me since my childhood. Such singular purpose, and the intact artifacts, monuments, etc. An empire that lasted for 3000 years. Words cannot describe. While I’m from the west I’m not a proponent of the west. I’d much prefer a more integrated society where family and lifestyle is more important and money less so. We’ll be visiting in the next few years, and I cannot wait. I’ll sleep in the temples and pyramids if i could. How’s the food - I imagine it’s very good? What about the water lily is it readily available to buy in Egypt? Thanks in advance.

@Lucy in the Sky Lucy, Lucy, Lucy...... wow what a well written, heartfelt response. We have so much in common. Yes Egypt is so captivating, almost boarding on mesmerizing. It’s other worldly to think Karnak temple itself was active and built, continually for a full 2000 years. The language at the birth of the temple would have been distinctly different than the language towards the end. Even English has really only been around for about 700 years. I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your dear friend Frank and his wife Carmen. That sounds like it was quite a friendship! Eyes of forever - I will never, and I mean never forget that term. That’s exactly what it is. As a guy who really, really appreciates woman - lol, I find the eyes are the window to the sole. Ohhhhh ancient Egyptian woman’s eyes, with the make up around the eyes, their mysterious look, nature and their darker skin and features. It’d drive a man wild 😁. That’s so interesting you turn 49 this month? Same here, this month and the big 50 😳🤦‍♂️. Lucy - you are very well written and a good story teller, thank you for sharing all that. It’s such a gift when someone takes the time out of their day, like you did, to write with such a heartfelt message. On the flower; so I’ve learned and researched much more recently and there are two distinct and separate species. One is the blue lotus, It’s a blue purplish hue with yellow flowers in the centre. It’s the one that helps with the lucid dreams. Then there is the blue water Lilly, which is a Lilly, pale blue, almost white. This is the True Egyptian variety. The former blue Lotus (lucid dreams) is from Asia. Sooooo what’s the true water Lilly all about? Firstly it’s very hard to find - exotic horticultural stores that sell a variety of pond flowers will likely know about it. Why did the Egyptians like it so much? It really was a strong aphrodisiac and it worked. I love science of nature and getting to the bottom of problems or questions. So the closest thing to the blue water Lilly would actually be viagra - lol. I certainly don’t need it (had to clarify that 😆) BUT it’s ironic the pills are a light blue, pale tone. Who knew?..... OK, I have much more to write but have to head off to work. Duty calls. I’ll double back later lots more to share on Egypt.....

@@maindrianlucanomarcellovan9949 I personally take lemon juice add it with water over the lily flowers soak overnight and on a low warm temperature about the temperature to get the water a little hot or just slightly steaming water vapors for about 30 minutes to an hour then pour through filter and squeeze out the juices of the herb by this point or sooner the colors should be extracted from the flower to the water You can also soak it in the sun for a day but I’m unsure if the sun rays destroy any medicine I know that it will destroy psilocybin tea to counter this you can maybe use a amber glass jar or cover your clear glass with a T-shirt to block the sun but allowing the tea to be heated and steeped in the sunlight from morning to night is best you can also place your herbs in the freezer before so that the medicines absorb from the frozen herb into the room temp liquid other than that I don’t have a recipe for the morning glory but if I was to guess morning glory tea will effect you quicker and stronger and chewing the seeds will be harden on the body to break apart and I know that when I chewed them my stomach was acheing with slight nausea for hours so maybe there are herbs like cannabis indica with cbd or ginger with lemon balm could be infused into the lily tea that could be sipped through the night There are herbs that are also vasodilators that might be worth the while since morning glory is a vasoconstrictor (tightens blood vessels )maybe a meal with hot peppers the day before so that you don’t have spicy pepper in your stomach with everything else. I believe the secret to the lotus and Lillies are high doses 10 grams or more up to 30 always start small to see how it works for you no body is the same and especially if using plant combos you haven’t tried always start small because you can never go back once you take too much The flower symbolizes death and rebirth so it would be fitting to go for higher doses by itself or with other medicines and explore inner realms and seek to be reborn in newness from patterns that don’t resonate with our soul I just found out you can make tea from morning glory so maybe take Lemon balm , ginger Chunk 1-2 inch Morning glory , blue lily , and maybe keep the mush aside from that and eat them up to you lemon will break down the psilocybin and make it hit you stronger And doesn’t last as long Spicy peppers the day before make it hot to the point you sweat that way you know the channels are opening for the medicine to flow What I was saying may be out of order but I leaves a lot of good info for you to craft your own unique way !

@@vibrantnaturalliving1911 Dear Vibrant Natural Soul, Thank you for your quick response and the extensive valuable information. You truly have a beautiful soul for sharing this with us and taking the time and energy! The reason I responded to your message is that I read that you have been in contact with Thoth. Now I have recently been initiated into the bwiti tradition in Gabon and started my own shamanic plant medicine tradition with Thoth as our Guide. In the context of this tradition, I am organizing a plant medicine ceremony for 10 people next Saturday in which I want to make the combination with psilo lemon teck, blue lilly and passion flower. Last time I also did this combination and it went well, only the blue lillys were not so noticeable or present. So I want to wait a little longer with the morning glory seeds, although I have become very interested in your experience and guidance from Thoth! For now I need some help with the correct preparation and purchase of the blue lillys. I have found the following information after researching about the blue lilly in which I would like your advice. I learned that the alkaloids in the raw plant matter are not water-soluble, making a blue lotus tea from dried petals may not turn out very effective.I've also heard that you have to soak this flower in wine or alcohol to extract its hallucinogenic properties, to render a decoction. So from this information, it seems that the flowers should be placed in the alcohol to extract the psychedelic properties. What is your take on this and do you have any advice on the amount of flowers I should prepare for 13 people who will be present during the ceremony? I would also like to know how many lemons should I add to the lillys and how much water? I'd love to hear from you. Blessings and thank you very much!

@@maindrianlucanomarcellovan9949 if possible maybe for 13 people I would say 5-25 grams lily per each person ,alchohol is a spirit of itself so I don’t know how that would blend into your ceremonies and if it would take away from the experience or add to it something constructive, one think I like about it is you can preserve the lily wine a lot longer than lily tea even at room temperature lily wine might not turn moldy like a lily tea would , I made a lily blend with organic wine plus red white blue lily and white and pink lotus and one sip of that had me lucidly dreaming and feeling , Thoth was and maybe still is guiding me for a while now I can’t say for sure why it is but if I did it’s a long story with many connections hard to explain ( some say that Thoth looks after children in need could be a piece of it) ,what an awesome path you’ve started , I found out this year that I’m 5% Cameroon,Congo, western Bantu 2%senegal 3% Mali 2% Nigerian 1% Benin and Togo , Last year I was getting many ideas for plant medicines of africa and how they can be pieced together like a puzzle similarly to in the Amazon it’s interesting that you mention all of this working with the medicines in Africa , much respect to you , keep your eyes and ears out for nicotiana Africana it’s Africa’s Tobbaco Tobbaco is #1 go to medicine at least nicotiana rustica is in the amazon

The connection of these plants developing blue colored blossoms and them both being psychoactive makes total sense. The smell of DMT made me think about that. It can smell very flower-like but I only realised that after encountering that smell as a part of the smell of certain flowers. Anyway! The smell is caused by Indole. Indole is a fundamental building block for the color indigo, the hormones serotonin and melatonin and alkaloids like LSD or psilocybin.

Just looked into this after watching your video and found a way to tell 100% that the ancient images they left show the blue lotus and not the blue lily. - “The biggest difference is that water lilies (Nymphaea species) leaves and flowers both float on the water's surface while lotus (Nelumbo species) leaves and flowers are emergent, or rise above the water's surface”. In all the ancient art the flowers are depicted erect and rising above the water surface like lotus flowers not floating like Lilies. The images where they’re passing them also show them stiff and erect not “floppy” and weak like lily stems would be.

Also I just want to add that when it comes to the lotus it may have been a type of fermenting process like rye the grain there's a certain fungus that grows upon it. LSD is the synthesized compound that was derived from that particular fungus.. something similar might be related to the lotus as well. So a symbiotic microbe might actually be the inducer for the third eye which so happens to coincide with our brains visual center, but then again what do I know.

EXCELLENT topic, ive been drinking the tea for atleast 5 years and its effects vary but the main effects of the tea, are calming and in higher doses slight euphoria. The ancient egyptians used it by putting it in Wine for a week or two, the more blue lotus you place in wine the more strong it gets so dont use to much but it is stronger than tea. i think. Bloom have you used it in beauty regimens cause i have a feeling women in Ancient Egypt and Nubia used it, i wonder how , i imagine they either soaked it in something like wine, boiled it down and made a cream with it and used it as a mask or that they used it as mummy wrap and went to bed, leaving room to breath and give orders to their servants to release..

Can we mix or soak blue lotus flower in other alcoholic beverages like whisky vodka rum or gin....? Or it's better or more effective with wine? This video is about the flower not about how to use it. I wouldn't advice even drinking alcohol yet alone soaking any herbs in alcohol would just strip all the mineral content away from the herb and take it away from it's natural state and function. . . However, do you.

Salutations! There’s a song I used to love when I followed Christianity. It’s one of the old songs that are song in acapella . It’s called “Lilly in The Valley” most notably sang by John P Kee. Here’s the part that stands out There's a lily in the valley(in the valley) Bright as the morning star There is a lily in the valley(in the valley) Bright as the morning star There is a lily in the valley(in the valley) Bright as the morning star Amen, amen, amen It references a lily with the morning star which is the Sun. Christianity has stolen & hijacked most of its concepts. Even using “Amen” which we know is Amun-Ra . So, I agree with you. Gratitude for sharing your thoughts and making this video 💜✨
