You can’t clear up negative associations with a particular word. Darkness does have connotations associated with fears, and rightly so. Shadows are dark, thus dark/shadows/night etc have relevant negative connotations. Fine use blind instead, it’s an interesting choice of word. But I don’t know why people constantly place the negative aspects of one thing, ie. darkness/night, and apply the same connotations to dark people. It’s so childlike. It baffles me so much how I’ve been able to go through life without giving a damn about another person’s colour, in fact many of my best friends growing up were Asian or foreign exchange students. I take a person for who they are on the inside, their intentions, values, beliefs etc. I don’t give a damn about colour. But everyone seems to. Regardless, some dark things are rightly associated with negative things. And some light things are right associated with positive things. Doesn’t have anything to do with someone’s colour and we need to stop focussing on that! It just creates MORE division.

I have been "Hindu" for the past 30 years, but revere other spiritualities as well. Kemetic is one I have not looked into but it has been calling me, very recently, and the rabbit hole has led me to this video. Perfectly explained how I understand Hindu Cosmology, but also how I see it outside of the confines of a religious presentation. Always have considered consciousness as energy, though, but totally agree with the description of consciousness here as well.

Kemet spirituality was one of the oldest and most original and it influenced Hinduism directly so if you are familiar with either one you will see similarities, they are both about going into the self and realizing it's divine and eternal nature, rather than looking for God or external forces on the outside. The unorthodox version of Christianity like Gnostic, Kabbalah, and Sufism still hold onto these ideas, but Orthodox institutionalized Christianity forgets about the divine nature of the Eternal Self and try to look at God on the outside separated from men. Oneness is the key understanding of Kemetic and other old eastern spirituality as opposed to the dualism mindset. The goal is to reunite the self, make peace and balance to all the duality and opposite aspects, this is becoming Christ/Krishna/Horus.

I'm a Catholic only because I was born and raised one. Right now is a pretty gray area for my religious connections, but I have a somewhat strange attraction towards Kemetic. Come to think of it, I've always had an interest in Ancient Egypt and their beliefs, but like it was stated in this video, it's been buried for quite some time due to conditioning. Still don't know what I'm going to find on my religious journey, but this was great at describing the basics of Kemetic. Edit: I am now fully Kemetic. While I have chosen this particular path, there are still many different viewpoints on the spiritual system from many different credible sources. Ancient Egypt spirituality is very old and it influences many other spiritual system, with Hinduism having the most similarities. The main idea from Kemetic and Hinduism is the understanding of oneness of the Self/God, which is the eternal consciousness. Recognizing the divine and eternal nature of the Self. This is different from institutionalized orthodox religion that think in dualism, good vs evil, man vs woman, god vs man. Good have to destroy evil, women are made to serve men, God is separated and unreachable by man. All of these dualist thinkings are very damaging sand causes all the suffering in the world. Instead the oneness aim is reunification of the Self. Since you have a Catholic background, I recommend to you the book Asarian Theology by Muata Ashby as the starting point because this Osiris Myth have similarities to Christian story of Jesus, which is the journey of the soul. So it will be easy to absorb but written from a more original perspective by the ancients. Once you become familiar with the deeper meanings and go on to discoverv of the Self, you won't have to feel any conflicts about this religion or that as you'll transcends them and is assured of your own divine nature.
