I think brioche and garter sounds like a lovely idea! Great episode. 🥰

Oh, Anna, please please do the brioche button band 🤩🤩I’d love that soooo much. And I think most people are being too worried about brioche. There is nothing complicated about it. It’s really soothing and rhythmic once you get in the swing of it and it’s the basic ingredients…knit and yo…anyway, that’s just my opinion. I would be interested in this pattern even if you did another stitch for the band, as far as it’s nice and thick. Much love to you and your recording devices 😜❤️❤️

I really like your cardigan progress and would do a brioche brand if that's what the pattern called for. Like you said "it might be a good place to start", or something like that, so why not! I like your new project pouch or bag you designed it's so pretty. Have a blessed weekend friends.

Thank you so much for the clips at the end. Made me a bit homesick. We moved from the San Juan Islands to the East Coast. Aren't the Gardens beautiful. Been there a few times as well as Victoria proper. And looks like you stopped in at the Beehive too. Great WIPs and the finished shawl.

I like the idea of brioche. I have very little experience with it but think it would look amazing. It would not deter me from knitting that pattern. Also good on you for sticking it out on that podcast despite all the obstacles (5 minute sprints ha).

Love the colors in your garter stitch cardigan. I can see myself using leftovers for this. Hiwever, i know how to do brioche, but I don't enjoy it. I would probably do another type of button band, even a folded one in stocking stitch, or maybe a 2/2 rib.

Hi Anna! Nice to see you back again so soon. Personally I think your garter cardigan idea is great and I really like how you’ve blended your colours. If I were the designer, I would go ahead and do the brioche, but also try it with a ribbed band so that you can provide an alternative in your pattern. That’s a lot more work for you though… Also, I love your Alpenglow! Again, I think your colour combination and blending is very beautiful.
@thebluebirdbox2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I don't think it would be too much to add another ribbing option :)

Hi Anna - maybe a way around some of the tech issues would be to film on your dslr, and add in still shots of the close up stuff you want to show us? It means more work post filming, but we’d get some great quality vision? The sound on your phone was definitely better. Do you have a laptop or tablet you could try filming on? Other than that, the cardigan is so lovely - I really like the gradient. And I can’t wait for the market bag to be released!!

Like you, I have a problem with scratchy yarn and I may have solved it where the neck is concerned. I recently bought a Conair defuzzer for sweaters that pill badly. I knit a pair of scratchy mitts and a hat before I realized how awful the little bit of alpaca in the yarn was. So, I carefully shaved off the inside of the hat and mitts and it is amazing how comfortable it is now. Maybe that would work for your sweater.
@thebluebirdbox2 жыл бұрын
I have never heard of that! I will give it a try before I cut my neckline - thank you!

Hi Anna! I like your new cardigan design! Personally, I love brioche, so I would say put it in the pattern, but I also realize people can find it intimidating. Would it be possible to give two options for the button band? One brioche and one a more standard ribbing?
@thebluebirdbox2 жыл бұрын
Definitely! Maybe a slipped stitch ribbing would give a similar look?

Dear Anna, indeed it is very frustrating if IT equipment is working against you ! Bur if you come closer to the camera the focus is ok you know. Revisit your podcast and you will see when the focus is pretty good. Could you add some text in the dropdown menu with the pattern and yarnnames please. That would give an extra bonus for the watchers, especially for non English native speakers like me. 🎶 I love the lace pattern very much ! 🪁. The garter stitch cardigan looks so beautiful. For myself I would finish it without buttons, just a simple icord edge. But that is just me, you know. 🙃 Thanks for the nice nature pictures, WOW. ☘️🌈

I have added those notes, thanks for letting me know :). An i-cord edge would absolutely work! I'm excited about a big squishy collar for myself.

I for sure think the appeal is the simplicity really regardless of skill level; I’ve been watching you work this with interest because it seemed like it will be easy fast and fun. Not words I associate with brioche 😂 But knitters adapt right? Maybe go crazy and offer both options? I love your construction and thoughtful design approach
