58:20 blue bros 2k isn’t “good” but the music makes up for it

Hm, interesting! Guess I’ll have to give it a shot sometime, after all!

Without the Blues Brothers, there may not have been a Wayne's World. Which mean Mike Myers wouldn't have gotten Austin Powers and Shrek. Without Shrek, DreamWorks may have not kept making movies. Means the entire landscape of 3d animated films would be completely different. Also I swear that GTA got thier wanted system from this movie.

Lmao at your GTA comment. As someone who has been dogpiled by cop cars in that series for most of his life, I think you’re onto something there!

I mean someone else probably would have, it’s not like they needed Mike Meyers to voice Shrek…

I know there's a universe where National Lampoon did a tv show and SNL never existed. National Lampoon definitely dropped the ball in this universe.

I’m choosing to believe that this universe still got Kids in the Hall, albeit with the slightly worse title “Children in the Aisle”

Currently watching and just wanted to comment on the Nazi thing. While it might seem antiquated, the Illinois Nazis were a real thing and their right to march went to the Supreme Court in 1977/78. In that light, it feels more of the time rather than some throw back to have some generic bad guys.

Wow, the more you know! Still, you could argue that it’s a group of people with antiquated ideals clinging onto their relevance, much as the cowboys and stuff like that. Great insight, though!

@@NicheCaesar I don't disagree that it is a valid reading and one that I actually like. I grew up with Indian Jones and Wolfenstein and so it always feels antiquated whenever I watch the movie, despite knowing the real history and relevance at the time. I just wanted to bring up this odd fact because it hard to believe that Nazis were somehow relevant even in the late 70s in America.
@xp75754 ай бұрын
@@edczxcvbnm the 70's were only 30 years after the Nazis lost WW2, 50 years after punk rock was invented it still exists, terrible that Nazis still exist today (and are more popular than ever) but not surprising, and certainly not surprising that they still existed 50 years ago

omg, you guys missed all parts of this movie, the musicians and actors who were in this movie which made it an icon.. It feels like you did not watch the film and just watched the clips. Yes, you were too young when this movie came out but you are missing so much and the icons the references of the time. Hard to watch you review this icon of a movie
@kwon77544 ай бұрын
I am curious about what you’re saying that is missing in the review. We do address what makes this film so iconic by discussing how important it was for the film to highlight these iconic artists as well as how famous actors and directors making a cameo in the film is done in a way that doesn’t distract us from the movie. We do not discuss every single scene in the movie because that would not make for a very entertaining review, instead we talked about the plot and some of our favorite scenes but I can assure you we watched the entire movie 😂

I mean you can either trust your feelings on it, or you can listen to me literally say that this borders on a yearly watch and is something I quote at least once a week 🤷♀️
