I worked on HAAS in 2006, live tool with sub spindle.
@matthewfrance31734 жыл бұрын
@@sylwesterkarpinski2511 Yes, we had 2x TL25 and a TL15, all with live tools, bar feeders, parts catchers, etc. They worked beautifully. Manned for 1 shift then ran lights out at night making 1000s and 1000s of precision parts. So many parts that the overflowing door mounted parts bin was removed and a large bin was placed in front of the machine to catch all the parts. Unfortunately in 2006 there was no Y axis available and the turret was VDI40. The TL15 was severely limited in part size with axial live tools. Great machines for the price.

My only problem with this is that I'm not sure I'd have enough imagination to use one of these to their full capacity!

What is ths cost difference between a multiple station turret and a single station turret with a 140 tool magazine? Once all the tools are loaded u never have to load or unload them. I worked in a place that had a 12 stn turret and was constantly changing them. It was time consuming, manually laborious too and ran the risk of dropping them.

I see the new machines have a 4" y travel. The older machines had 2" travel. How much can you do with 4" of y-axis travel? Having never run a live tooled lathe I'm not sure what the capabilities are.
@adammiller48792 жыл бұрын
Not a lot. Almost no travel, for small milling ops..

Will Haas offer optional turrets with 16 or 20 driven tool positions, perhaps in BMT55 or BMT45. (Doosan, Takisawa, Mori Seiki offer this option).

Noob question heading your way! Watch Out! Is this already available worldwide for new machines to be ordered? In the build-a-quote section of your website, are these the driven toolholders quoted?

Try Benz live tools with ur Haas. Best sturdy bearing site, reliable and flexible. Very good tool adoptions are available.

I am always concerned with buying a Live Tool Lathe as Live tools have a limited running cycle between rebuilds ?? ( just my experience ? ) I noticed you mention the Benz Live Tools, do you currently use them yourself ? If so, how have you found the running cycle before rebuilds ? Do you find them a lot better than what is currently available in the marketplace. I am at some point looking at buying a lathe with BMT 65 Live Tools which is about as far as you can go as far as rigidity for Live Tools goes. Any feedback would be very grateful. Regards Peter.
@ottobildstein59334 жыл бұрын
@@weldmachine Hi Peter, the basic problem is that live tool business is very price related. I learnt that cheap tools will not perform good enough. I know Benz from angle heads for m/cs. Runout sturdiness and live time is very good. In my eyes there are Benz and WTO to compare. Benz offers extended warranty and will offer customized solutions. For BMT 65 you will find first class units at Benz - Charlotte NC for sure.

Why not have a single turret tool with a 140 tool bank in the tool changer. No future setups needed. That would save an increible lot of down time.

You mean a mill turn machine?
@JohnSmith-gy4qj4 жыл бұрын
@@Icutmetal If that is what its called yes. I was on a twin spindle cnc lathe horizontally opposed & 3 live tools but we were constantly loosing so many hours on tool changes, it also had crash detection software, the tooling and update all the software about the tools too. Whereas the multi tool loader in a magazine with room for 140 tools would have saved so much time. When updating to a new machine it pays to search thoroughly what new technologies are available too.

Bought one of these in August 2017. The C axis has never repeated for one complete work day. They have had the machine down for well over 40 hours now. Trying to find the problem. Replaced a large number of parts across the platform. It still won't work. I have requested a new machine and have been told " we don't take machines back...we will not replace the machine". Buyer beware. Just because you buy new. This is an "as is" sale. Just as though you bought used. Shop somewhere else. I have researched it. And other manufacturers WILL honor the warranty on the purchase agreement. They will follow through. And they will back you. This is pivotal when spending this kind of money. A company that will back they're warranty and product is the most important facet of a purchase of this nature. Shop other builders. It will be one of your better business decisions.

Diego Martinez - If you can send me the serial number of your machine I'd like to take a look at the service history and see if there is anything that can be done here. Please email me directly at bofallon@haascnc.com and I'll take a look at the situation and get back to you. - Bryan, Haas Automation
