Other reviews say it is the same size, roughly, as an X5 but it looks a lot smaller....

The hood releases are on the very left and right under the dash inside a little knockout. They are loops, like a key ring. Hard to dig out. Too bad you didn't review the M60. The air suspension is sublime in every way. Also notice that ALL the sensors (cell, GPS, laser) are in the grill, so no shark fin. Also, iDrive 8.5 is fantastic, navigation is incredible. 8.0 completely sucked. The iX has changed everything I thought about cars--total paradigm shift. Also, the steering wheel is a hexagon. Octo=8. Hexa=6. One thing, BMW doesn't lie about: range. My Tesla friends, regardless of model, are all in the 250 miles range. Both our iXs do 320+ everytime. The iX50 can do even more.

The Cooper SE version of iDrive is awful, we have an SE and an iX 40, I wish they would update the SE, it needs it. The latest version of iDrive 8 11/2023.73 (not 8.5) has manual battery preconditioning. The navigation route planning has improved quite a bit, the car will preheat if a charging station is picked as a destination, either end of, or mid point of a trip. With the new software you will see 150 kWh charging and it holds it, which it wouldn't before. In Norway in summer it can easily beat WLTP range. It must be noted where I live to where I've normally driven the highest speed limit is 90km'h, I have the speed set to the speed limit plus 5km/h. You dodged the bullet with the MG, my family one as a rental in the UK last summer, I would say it's one of the worst cars I've ever driven.

Door release at base of door above the cubby. You are correct about the I drive. They have upgraded to 8.5 to cut the menus down. If you tell it where you are charging next it will precondition should be close to 150 up to 80% then it’s painful. 50 model is best of the three between range and performance.

Its a great car but I just dont like it on a personal level. I’d rather be honest vs slamming it saying its bad and horrible. Part of being an adult is you can have opinons.
