I had this same Mach-E trim for 2 years and drove over 60k. I love this car. People complain about depreciation. Yes is worth about half what I paid for it, but I don't care. I don't plan on selling it. I saved over 9,500 net in gas saving by charging at home, that is net after the extra electric bill. So, in 6 years, I would be getting back over 28k driving the same miles. Even if the battery goes, which I doubt. I would have saved more than enough for a new battery ( instead of taking a chance on a used ICE engine) or new EV

Love my Mach-E. Had a Premium then upgraded to a GT for the better suspension which is amazing. In both models the seats are really comfy. It's not necessarily the best at any one thing but it's really good at just about everything, and has every feature i wanted in an EV, while every competitor I looked at had at least one key feature missing or some random deal breaker. It's the Goldilocks of EV crossovers and IMO is one of the best looking as well

@@logicalratio fitting a larger pack or chemistry change is easier said than done. There is physically no room for a larger pack or adding more cells. @logicalratio10 күн бұрын
@@simplygregsterev I was not asking about a larger physical size as that seems impossible/self-evident but yes, the market is changing fast along with the technology while costs come down. This model is just too close to my lowest limit to consider and a 20/25% density increase (upgrade) would be perfect. Cheers
@paulboucher266411 күн бұрын
If you want to do it on the cheaper side it would probably be less expensive to just install one wall connector in the garage where your grizzly charger is already. Than just take a 40 amps breaker and run a #8 cable to the exterior wall connector for a 32 amps charge... You could even cheap out and get a #10 and go 24 amps on the exterior wall connector.. For my install I needed around 80 foot of cable from the panel to the wall connector, I had just around 80 foot of #10 laying around, model 3 is always full when we leave in the morning....

I like it a lot, I think every car should be able to do that. To me it us absurd why it is not the case. That tech exists since a long time ago, I don't know why it didn't evolve. I think automakers should focus on that feature instead of copying each others and barely offer evolution. Mobility shouldn't be as restrictive as it is right now, we should be able to move freely and that tech offers that. All cars look or work the same, just like the cell phones industry. It seems that no one dares anymore.

I drive a small EV with a 16 kWh battery. I won't lie - when that turtle icon shows up because it's too cold or I didn't plan my trip properly, I get anxious right away. Even though I know I can probably still drive another 5-10 km in town if I'm very gentle and on a flat surface, it’s nerve-wracking. I've learned the hard way with a towing bill that you should charge your EV whenever you can, not just when you need to! XD I still love my car, but for long distances, I’d recommend a gasoline or hybrid car.

I am disappointed in the charging speed, I charge in a covered garage at work and at this point I deal with diminishing returns.
