The BMW M2 is not perfect. The steering is sharp but numb, the shifter is leagues behind the Integra or Porsche 911’s, and the sound feels manufactured. I dont know whats going on with bmws design department but it is a far cry from even 5 years ago. But mechanically, seems like a great car.

Did you have it muted or something? He repeatedly says "it's not my job to set lap times, just my job to have fun". They used a proper driver to set the lap times.

What a frustrating car. Great that it’s fast and fun. But it would cost no more money for BMW to make it look even halfway good. The visuals of the M2 are abominable. I’ve seen many of them in person, in various colors. It couldn’t be much uglier. And the pasted-on afterthought of the curved screen looks moronic. Just integrate it even slightly, BMW, c’mon. There’s no way I could walk into my garage each morning and feel happy with the purchase of this car.

It’s not the prettiest out of the box but the aftermarket has solved a lot of that. It’ll never be a porsche in looks but dollar for dollar it competes with and in some ways surpasses the entry level porsches in performance. There’s really not a better all around car at this price point with the exception of maybe the corvette and they’re actually a bit more money. It’s just a shame you gotta throw an extra $8k or so into cosmetic mods to make the car look complete.
