Fun video. The great part about bikes like this BMW S1000RR is that the motors are never straining. They can last forever, if they are driven at anywhere near street speeds . And the best thing is, you are never lacking power to get away from a suddenly dangerous street situation. The scariest thing now, is that the police are now sitting on the interstates, right off the side of the on ramps. No fun joining the interstate at 'merging speeds' , right in front of a state trooper. But ride these bikes with respect for the power and they must be an absolute blast to own. Hell, book a track day to wring them out. Way cheaper then a court date.

Rode 600 and 750's for a decade, then over to R1 a couple of years ago. First thing I thought on the R1 was 'this bike is stoopid fast'. Well, I got used to it and accelerating stoopid fast became normal, I recently moved back down to a 600 for shits and giggles, I am enjoying revving the bike out a bit more and not always going so fast.

I love revving the crap out of my CBR. That sound literally terrifies everyone on the street, lol. They turn around, jump inwards on the sidewalks out of fear for what's coming. I love it. On a litre bike - the only high revving you are going to do is in 1st gear.

That's approaching supercar performance....and that's considered a beginner bike to most riders. My mom asked me if it was fast and I told her it wasn't that fast for a bike. My dad then asked if it was fast for a car. He knew the answer.

@igork9691 I started riding on a ninja 650 and after only ~5 months I got an s1000rr. I'm just about 5'7 so the positioning/weight/height was the biggest adjustment. The bikes power is more manageable and forgiving than you'd think. Yeah it can go fast as fuck but the electronics and tech make it the most "beginner" friendly 1000 you can buy. It also has all the creature comforts you won't find on any other superbike (cruise, heated grips). It all comes down to the kind of rider and how mature you are. You can easily kill yourself on a 400 and a 1000. The biggest difference with a 1000 is respecting its power long enough to learn to be in control of it instead of it being in control of you. If not, things WILL get out of hand QUICKLY.
