The Bob the Builder Reboot's Finest Moment: A Mega Machines Review

I actually kind of like the Bob the Builder reboot. It ain't great by any means of course and to be frank, the first two seasons are pretty mediocre for the most part; I really only ever enjoyed the episodes that either Roley or Dizzy got involved in because they didn't show up that often. They basically got the "Edward and Henry" treatment in the reboot by becoming side characters but I'd argue that they did a LOT more in the reboot than Edward or Henry did in BWBA and of course in their respective reboot. But other than that, I do ironically find it solid in some kind of way, at least for a kids show. The animation for the first two seasons and MM is great and I actually find it on par with Arc and Jam Filled's animation for Thomas from The Adventure Begins to Series 21. Season 3, despite still using the same formula as the first two and having worse animation, I find it more entertaining because of what they tried to do different that season and that was the use of more comedy/slapstick. Not sure how many people whether they already hated the reboot as whole or the first two seasons for what they did would feel, but I unironically find the humor hilarious. I even did an out of context video based on that aspect from that season. Its legitimately funny in my opinion. As for Mega Machines, it's definitely the best thing to come out of the reboot as a whole. For being the franchise's first real villain, Conrad is pretty threatening. I think one of the greatest parts about both him and the movie is that, for a while, he actually succeeded in his end goal and almost won if it weren't for Ace. He definitely got lucky in the end for doing community service instead serving 9 to 20 behind bars. Since this comment is already long enough, one more thing that I'll say I enjoyed about Mega Machines was the songs baring the overused Working as a Team. Pit of Despair sounds like an actual song that you could like listen to on the radio; its so good. Anyway, I won't ramble on anymore. Overall, I too think that Mega Machines is a great film and the best thing to come out of the BTB reboot.

You'd think the reboot should have episodes be different and not in the same formula of how they're played out. I like Mega Machines as well for introducing a real villain which the original series (which I prefer more since I like it better) should have done over the years to spice things up a bit and shows that not all characters are good. It's good to have both good and bad in franchises and characters, even Bob The Builder. Imagine if Mega Machines was in original series CGI style akin to Ready Steady Build, look wise.

Mega Merchines is the only good thing too come out of the bob the Builder reboot, with a few tweaking here or there, I can see this special working in the original series, it would have been a great way too showcase an actual villain, something that the original bob the Builder series never had.

Ever since this reboot came out I've had a headcannon that it takes place in the same universe as the original Mirror's Edge. With characters like Conrad running around in their world I don't know if it makes my headcannon more or less believable.😅 12:04 I guess that's more of a Mirror's Edge-esque look (especially for the tie-in comic) but I can't be certain unless it's translated into CGI

If the reboot was in the style of the original, and had good plots like Mega Machines, I would've loved it just as much as OG Bob The Builder. Bob was one of my childhood favorite shows, along with Thomas The Tank Engine, which is why the reboots anger me so much. At least Roary The Racing Car, Fifi and The Flowertots, and Engie Benjy, even if they didn't get a fair chance here in the US [Benjy didn't even get a chance at all], didn't have to suffer from awful reboots. I highly recommend checking Engie Benjy out, it's such a cute and unique show, and Benjy doesn't always save the day, which is refreshing.

I Was Kinda Confused Seeing Scoop, Muck And Lofty Were Made As A Trio In The Reboot. Considering The Fact That They Weren’t Seen As A Trio That Much In The Original. But I Find It Quite Interesting.

I do find it interesting How Scoop is the only machine to have a British accent in both dubs of the reboot Provided by British actor and comedian Blake Harrison best known for playing Neil in the Inbetweeners the other characters who still have a British accent in the US dub of the reboot are Wendy, Phillip, Curtis and Conrad

Cars, Along with Bob the Builder, Planes, Rory the racing car and Thomas the Tank Engine are imo the best medias involving talking vehicles Meanwhile, Super Wings, Robot trains, Robocar poli, Mighty Express, Ricky Zoom, Olly the little white van, the stinky and dirty show, Batwheels, All Engines Go, Dive Olly Dive, Chuggington, Finley the fire engine, Dinotrux, Firebuds, Wheely fast and hilarious, Zerby Derby, Terrific Trucks, Jungle Junction, Trucktown, and some others aren't that good imo As for Tayo and Airport Diary, they're OK

Tbh the Bob the builder reboot wasn't that bad all things considered watching the entire franchise i definitely dint see too much different though it suck they got rid of some of the characters

To be honest, I have to say that after this movie, the reboot actually kind of got better (in my opinion). Season 21 was actually above average for me. Sure, it’s a little more on the nose with the cartoony style and wacky animation, but the actual stories themselves don’t have the exact same structure. Some stories had more depth and more substance that came to a conclusion in the end. Also, I have to mention how some side characters got more focus in s21. I mean, Roley got one appearance and a couple speaking roles in two episodes respectively, but characters like dizzy and rocky actually got some episodes to themselves. Even the mega machines from this very movie got some attention in this season. However, the humor is dialed up to 130% on this season. There has to be some kind of stupid of cheesy joke at least like 15 times in one episode. And the main 3 characters are actually a little more annoying than the movie and the previous 2 seasons. Overall, I recommend you to watch season 21 on the channel “Bobsville Times” on KZbin, it’s much better than season 19 and 20, trust me.
