I bet your library has the audiobook version read by Frank Muller. I know you have read it, but if you ever decide to reread it. I recommend listening to the audiobook while on a long trip.

I think this one would have been a bit to heavy for me in 5th grade, but I commend you for that. I didn't find my love of reading for a couple more years at that point. What is your favorite Stephen King novel? Who is your favorite author?

I've got The Body in my copy of Four Seasons, cannot wait to read it!!

One of the best things King ever wrote. The Breathing Method is kind of a dud, in my opinion, but the other three novellas in Different Seasons are top notch. That was King at the height of his powers.

Hmm, new to Steven King’s books. I’m reading Different Seasons right now and over half way done with The Body. Why does King write so many “F” words thru out the book and stories? I don’t remember kids talking that trashy back then. Shawshank was ok. Apt Pupil was disturbing and dark. The Body I have not totally figured it out yet like others who have read it. Seems like a story for women and not so much for men who remember those days. I must be missing something.
@NinaSoden4 жыл бұрын
There is a bit of language in most King stories, but I don't think he does it in excess of what makes sense for his characters. Just my opinion. As far as The Body goes, I think the story leans more toward a younger (teenage) male reader, but I loved it as a kid and as an adult.
@tylerlowe83242 жыл бұрын
I disagree, I think this novella is geared more towards men but I do not discount that women could have the same experience reading it. This short story brought back so many memories from my adolescence, and I can vividly remember the grand adventures we had, the urban myths, boys who struggled with the same issues as the ones in this story, and growing apart from those same friends as I got older. I honestly have not related more to a story than this one, and I find it to be a masterpiece.
