Thank you so much, I cried with this song, it remembers me my youth. When I was a teenage I used to dream with having a home like the one in the video, now I feel very close to my goal

You're just a shadowy voice speaking at my door with many dark things to say. The spirit inside tells me I should turn away. A temple of light, with windows clean and bright lights my soul that's within MY holy house! I'M AIMING MY CLOROX AT YOUR OILY FINGERS!!!!

I love this song. I guess the guy who commented is the people who bring the gross oils inside. Yeah not one to hang around with. Choose friends with a purpose.

The symbolism pricked somebodies heart today...it's a start in the right direction.

1 Corinthians 3:16 "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?" The video is symbolic in that our body is a temple. Since the house represents the mind and body, to me these aren't people entering, although they could be. The people represent either temptation and harmful thoughts and substances such as drugs and pornography while good, positive, edifying, and clean thoughts and substances are represented as well.

Seen so many friends robbed of the light using dangerous, addictive substances. This video to me portrays that.

To this day I’ve always wondered why they included a subplot in the righteous version to have a girl with a soccer ball come in and help decorate a cake.
@taleivarea16963 жыл бұрын
I always thought that it went together with the lyrics of the song. Beginning from the scene when the girl is at the door, the lyrics are: I begin to see. Souls in need, knocking so gently; Hearts to feed. Should I let them into my life? Is there room inside for love For love Seeking to help, seeking to care, Making a welcome place; With each kind step, love fills the room, Granting the Savior's grace. A temple of light with windows clean and bright. Lights the soul that's within my holy house.

I love this part! It’s so random and if feels like there clearly is some dialogue we don’t get to hear! I think the writers/directors wanted to include this part to show that there is a difference between rejecting bad influences and being accepting of people who make mistakes. Meaning that just because someone is not perfect doesn’t mean they are a bad influence. But in execution it is so random!

The little girl wanted to play ball with her friend. Friend was busy with visitors disappointing the little girl. Friend had compassion and let her in and helped serve others bringing her joy. Perhaps keeping our temples holy increases our charity and love to extend to others.

It’s not saying that dead flowers, picture of NY, or people with sun glasses are evil.... if that’s what you got from the video, then try to think a little deeper. It has nothing to do with that. Keep your thoughts clean, take care of your body, etc. God gave us a temple, body, where The spirit dwells. Keep it clean.

Having grown up Mormon, I see both sides now and this video more symbolizes the rejection of ideas and people that may make you question your beliefs. Yes, I know that was not it's intent but that's how it works just like scare tactics used by religions in general. "Anti-Mormon literature" is history that is uncomfortable and you are charged to do nothing less with it than what is portrayed in this video. Sure, keep bad stuff out of your life just like I and most other decent people do, but learn to know the difference between what is degrading and what is revealing. Questioning belief systems (really questioning... no I mean REALLY questioning) is one of the healthiest things you can do to clean your house of junk.

I think that's a strong statement. I believe she learned how to discern over a period of time who to let in and who not to let in. There are positive and negative forces that can be explored. In the end its your choice. She chose a home ..temple..home of God and goodness ..light over a house of darkness, destruction and illusions of temptation. It takes time to learn, discover and discern what the truth is and self love, boundaries and preservation

You have made a decent point. Also, I wouldn't go to an anti LDS critic for insight on the sacred grove or the book of Mormon, just like I wouldn't ask the orkan man how to fix my ceiling fan. With some things, you almost certainly know what people are going to say, that's a waste of time especially if you've already received a witness of it's truth through the holy spirit. Granted, there are times I was interested in some of the beef apostates have had with JS, and it always ends up being a story about how they left the church over spilt milk.

I treat my body like a temple. I decorate it with overly expensive and gaudy things, have hundreds of strangers tramp through me, and then remove the carpet before I get dedicated to only servicing a few 'worthy' people.

Yes temptation does look more fun..and often temporarily is. For me the way back from repenting from giving into temptation and brief temporary fun is far more difficult and complex than if I had exercised self discipline in first place, but the Lord gave us our agency to find out for ourselves.

From my experience, over 30 years of "fun" led me into nothing but darkness. Christ's path it peace and light.
@guidadiehl9176 Жыл бұрын
Fun people and fun times led me over the long-term to misery, drug addiction, and loneliness. Clean living, Christ and the Church have led me back into the light. It was hard work - harder than giving into temptation - but well worth it🙂
