More than 15 years have gone by since this documentary was made. The theatre went a complete renovation from 2005 to 2011 and Russia's economy has also been completely reformed. You can now buy tickets online directly from the Theatre.

G Mahler And Sveta is dancing in Canada. Her story until that should be in another doc.

Now the biggest threat to the theatre is the man running it and the mediocre "talent" he is bringing in to destroy the prestige of the theatre.

Some lovely footage of Ekaterina Maximova teaching, without whom Lunkina would not have become the ballerina she was.

Bolshoi Ballets performances are screened about once a month worldwide and shown in Cineworld. Saw La Bayadere January 2019. Theatre looks amazing and the company were fabulous. So, if like me, there is no chance of seeing them live, have a look for cineworld or whoever your local cinema is and see if they show the company at any time. I think the next one in UK is in March some time.

Does anyone knows the name of the ballet in which she's wearing black clothing? Thank you in advance :)
@elenausenova45918 жыл бұрын
It's called "Аnyuta". A ballet is based on Anton Chekhov's novel "Anna on the neck".

why do they wear socks? is it because of the cold ?
@noangel20028 жыл бұрын
It helps to keep muscles warm during class or rehearsals. If you watch open class or rehearsals of any company you'll see ballerinas wearing different leg warmers or warm tights

The Russian Bolshoi performances should be canceled because of these performances in blackface. It is degrading to African Americans and American citizens.
