If there is even an INKLING OF INTEREST in what you find here, PLEASE read Eric Metaxas' book Bonhoeffer. Seriously. It's an incredible read! The details he brings out, The way the Lord had infused the family with wisdom, courage and influence --in the HIGHEST places is ASTOUNDING. I read it in 2019, as the Lord was graciously preparing me for what was to come 😢(I also read 1984 during that time, whoa😮). Stand strong. Remember the image of the ONE man with his arms folded in a sea of raised ones!

He was allowed nice quarters for most of his jail time. His family was wealthy and very connected so Hitler's people treated them better than others. Sadly, he was hanged like 3 days before the end of WW2. I thought God was going to let him live but no. B was also involved in the coup attempt on Hitler. How many pastors today will even speak in the pulpit. The Church is weak because the Pastors are cowards and weak.

Bonhoffer was an example for all of us. A friend gave me a copy of THE COST OF DISCIPLESHIP . It was written by a brilliant man Bonhoffer. I had to carefully read 1 page at a time I even underlined high points. We lost a great man of God hung only 3 wee k s before liberation

Notwithstanding Bonhoeffer's picking up of the "sword", he questioned the virgin birth, historicity of the resurrection, said the New Testament was full of "myths", said that Genesis 1 was written because of man's "naivety", and clearly said that the creation account of Adam was a myth. It says something about the sorry state of modern "Christianity" that someone who defended lies and deceit is heralded as a hero of the faith. We read in Proverbs 12:22 "Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who act faithfully are his delight."

The Church in America has made a Faustian bargain- selling our spiritual birthright for “a mess of pottage”. In aligning ourselves with, and claiming God’s favor for, one who embodies the very *_inverse_* of everything the Beatitudes call us to as followers of Christ, we blaspheme the Name and desecrate the character of the One whom we represent- He whom we call Lord. And we will answer to Him for it. Like so much of the Church in Germany of Bonhoeffer’s time, we have betrayed our faith and compromised our witness, in seeking to serve another master. (And we apparently lack even the discernment to tell a Nebuchadnezzar from a King Saul) …We do, indeed, gravely and urgently need to wake up and heed Bonhoeffer’s warning.

Read Erwin Luther’s book Hitlers Cross and you’ll see a conviction-less church which did not stand against the progressivism. It’s one of the reasons Bonhoeffer stands out
