This book fadhail e amaal is the nehej of the Prophet SAW and Sahaba. Today we go to schools where we are taught fadhail e Maal. Today the arabs believe that maal means success. Today the modern bedouins believe that by building the tallest building the Muslims have achieved success. Yet the prophet Muhammad warned and informed that you will see barefooted arabs competing with each other in building the tallest buildings. But this prediction has come true. Today people are neglectful of amaal because we are ignorant of their values. In the school of the prophet the sahaba learnt fadhail e amaal. The value of amaal was so ingrained in their brains that you will see a sahabi going regularly to the market but he never came back with goods. When he was asked why he said that he has been taught by Rasulullah a zikr which enables the reciter of it in a market millions of virtues. Thus he goes to the market to recite and earn these virtues. These are the fadhail the sahaba learned in their school. Sheikh Ilyas noticed that the decline in Deen and practice of amaal because the teaching methodology (nehej) has been abandoned and we now have deeni institutions based on the nehej of American universities. This is what maulana Ilyas meant when he referred to this work as "qarne awwal ka heera". The methodology of the sahaba has been given back to us. His fikr was how to make each individual of this come back on his maqsad like the sahaba understood it like Uqba bin Nafe when he reached the shores of West Africa he spurred his horse into the Atlantic ocean until the water reached to its neck and addressed his Rabb thus:"if I knew there was land beyond this I would have taken my army there." In Maulana's time there were dar ul ulooms and books. Knowledge was far more available in his time than in the time of the Sahaba. Then he realised that the school (i.e. the school of Dar-" ul-imaan) through which the worst of people became the best has been closed for centuries and this was the reason why in spite of ilm, being plentiful aamaal were little. Our methodology changed from "taallum nal imaan thoumma taallum nal Quran" to " taallum nal Quran thoumma taalum nal imaan". In most cases the "taallum nal imaan" has been removed from the curriculum altogether in our current methodology (nehej) . Even ulama did not notice its disappearance. This change in methodology was the cause of the degradation of this ummah. This was a dead sunnah which Maulana Ilyas tried to revive. No wonder even ulama got shocked with his methodology and some even called it "bidaa". Such a shock-provoking methodology can be easily understood if we take the analogy of a person who has been dead for many years coming back alive in front of his relatives. Will they be happy to see him or shocked? Similarly this methodology was dead for centuries no wonder even the most knowledgeable will get shocked. That is why the Prophet SAW, who was aware of the degradation of this ummah over the ages, has informed us that Allah Ta'ala will send mujaddids to revive the Deen not by modernising it but by restoring it to its pristine purity. Imaam Malik RA said: The last of this ummah can only be reformed by the methodology, (nehej) which was used by the pioneers of this ummah (the sahaba).

Sidenote: Since the work was translated into Arabic later, "Fazail-e-Amaal" is actually the correct pronunciation in Urdu. Edit: Unless the author intended that his Urdu book would have a Arabic title.

When a 'Mufti'(not even one, Allah knows best) answers questions about matters, it is his duty to know enough about it and answer accordingly or else it can be grave dhulm period.

Quran and Sunnah was revealed in Arabic thus we stick with the 12 qarai recitation revealed by Gabriel and the Tongue of the Qaryash. Thus which is why most of the Urdu book arnt accepted by the Ulamah in the mainland of Hijaz (Mecca and Madinah), every other translation will have lots of errors which is why the Deen is in Arabic. What lack of knowledge. The book "Faza'il A'maal" was written originally in the Urdu language, although the author Shaykh ul Hadith Muhammad Zakariya also authored volumes in Arabic as was his commentary on the Muwatta of Imam Malik known as Awjaz Al Masaalik ila Muwatta Imam Malik. Urdu as in the case of Farsi have the letter ض pronounced as "Z". So a man who changes his name to include the word Mufti in it is wasting everyone's time commenting on a book on Hadith written in Urdu with the correct pronunciation but accusing it of being mispronounced
