There are a few people with timelines that show that we are at the bitter end. But, we haven't seen the signs in the chapter yet.

Jesus who knows all these things said this: Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. - Luke 10:19 Perhaps these words are for the tribulation saints?

What specifically makes you think the description of the chimera locust is "symbolic"?

I'm open to some kind of literal possibility. After all, genetic manipulation and other things are happening in our world. However, past prophetic fulfillments, where this type of apocalyptic language was used in the old Testament, along with early Church tradition and understanding suggest it is more likely then not to be symbolic. Again, as I mentioned, prophecy is truly understood in hindsight. We will have to wait and see. All eyes on Jesus. God bless.
