I know no ones asked for a life story here but my dad left a couple years a go and Halloween used to be our special thing, and since then I've been very low around autumn but I'm changing this year, just going to enjoy it for what it is and lvoe every minute of it. All I wanted to say was, this video a year ago would've made me cry but now I'm enjoying it. Love you channel, you're my motivation for reading x

Yeah, totally agree - I'd say along with Persuasion it's definitely the least talked about Austen novel! And thank you - I'm very excited to get into all of these autumn reads!

Vicious is good! Definitely a bit darker than Shades of Magic. I particularly love her different portrayals of women throughout this series.

lovely video, I added a few books from your list to my list:)) Some other books Im planing to read in autumn/this year are the last two Harry Potter books (rereading them), a hungarian teenage romance book (Szent Johanna Gimi), 21 lessons for the 21st century and Stephen Kings The body. The last one is actually the autumn themed novell from the 4 seasons collection!

I posted this in your last video. What is or, are your favorite types of tea? Thank you so much. I love your content! Sorry I always miss asking questions for Q&A’s and you just make tea look so yummy. I do so enjoy tea but only plain(I haven’t gotten into adding almond milk as of yet... I’ve just finished reading Far from the madding crowd and it was incredible! It’s so gripping and fast paced and all of the characters are so well thought out. It’s also full of amazing feminist quotes which I wasn’t expecting! And the film is great too. Hope you enjoy it!!

Re Hardy I do not recommend The Trumpet Major, Decades later after reading it at school for my O Levels I still remember it as being dull and implausible in parts eg in one section someone faints when they see a cow. Loved the Night Circus but was really underwhelmed by The Starless Sea . IDK if it's because I listened on audio book though. I hope from what you said about it and the blurb you are not as disappointed as I was. I was as excited as you,

Hello!!! Did ya miss me as much as I missed you?! I’ve been gone on business trips. I’m looking forward to what you think of those books and catching up on your videos. For my September, I read ‘To Hell and Back’ by Audie Murphy and I’m almost done with ‘The Road to Unafriad’ by Capt Jeff Struecker. And I just started reading the The Song and Bird Hunger Games Prequel. It’s been a slower reading month but I’m also doing college classes and lots of work obligations. What is the bookstore you referenced?
@ciarascorner4 жыл бұрын
Hello! I did wonder where your lovely comments had gone - glad you’re back! Let me know what you think of The Hunger Games prequel - I read it in May and quite enjoyed it - I’ve also been having a slower reading month, September is always so busy! The bookshop I mentioned was Waterstones ☺️
@theokiereader4 жыл бұрын
@@ciarascorner I must look into this Waterstone. I have a feeling it's similar to the American Barnes and Nobles (aka my ultimate favorite store!). How is employment over there? Are you back to work? Everyone in the US is almost entirely back to work, even though the media reports overwise. Our media is so messed up. It really sheds a bad light on Americans to the rest of the world.
@ciarascorner4 жыл бұрын
Yeah! I think Waterstones is definitely our equivalent to Barnes and Noble! Employment is still a bit weird here - I am back at work, was in the office for a few weeks and now the government have advised working from home again so that’s what I’m doing (definitely after the media are not great in this situation)!
@theokiereader4 жыл бұрын
@@ciarascorner Did you guys have a spike in COVID, too? The majority of us are still working from home and I don't think that will be changing even after COVID. There's pros and cons to it lol.

I don't know if you'll check out my comment but i've been reading more & more and Ciara you have inspired me so much! I had two questions: 1) How do you find all these books to read? I know I get most of my ideas from you and other booktubers but i'd like to also do some research on my own haha and 2) idk if that's doable but I sometimes listen to your videos as some sort of podcast and then I wanna check out the books that you mentioned but i got to back and either rewatch the video & write down, or just skip parts. Would it be possible to write down the books in the description? (it's ok if it isn't since it's a marginal issue!) keep up the good work ciara, love love love ur channel
@ciarascorner4 жыл бұрын
aw thank you so so much - I'm glad you've been inspired to read more! Honestly, I get most of my recommendations from other booktubers and then also just picking up random books in the bookshop! And that's a good point, I'll try and start including books in the description!
