until you stated it, i didn't realize it, but....the fact that "you have a rec for that" and read pretty widely within romance... I really value that in you and that's definitely a reason why I follow your channel! i also think romancelandia and news/commentary in the romance book space are part of your brand even though I'm sure there are times it is hella exhausting to keep abreast of all the goings on. outside of romance, i associate you with being someone who i can find NOT scary halloween time recommendations because we both are little scaredy cats. 💖💖

I’m not sure how I forgot romancelandia in my brand but it’s definitely core to what I read. Oh I love that I can give scaredy cat recs cause I’m one but less than others usually 😂 like I’m so particular about that stuff but sometimes I want the slight scary bits 💖💖💖

I think the picks were pretty accurate. Did forget about the pegging and bonkers books though. Maybe because it been a while. I can't really think of anything for myself. Maybe "BL" in general. During my book orders, I always seem to slip in a BL manga of some sort and I never fail to read a couple during any given month. I need to maybe apply that to novels though 🤔. They seem to be hard to find and tend to me very smutty with no plot.

Yeah there is! A Why choose generally has one character that hooks up with all the other love interests. Poly romances would involve multiple people in the group hooking up with and without that main character. Basically why choose is one main love interest banging with them all poly is often a lot of them banging with or without the main person 💖💖💖

I love when people can appreciate that a bonkers romance is most likely trying to be fun and take the readers to somewhere new. Like, I approach the sentient object books by Vera Valentine as almost romcom because she's just having a silly, goofy good time but also smutty! On another note, I do also associate Beasts of the Briar with you bc it's my favorite recent rec. 🍋‍🟩

I been offline for a bit so I missed this! hmmm, for manga I'd say its: 1) offbeat romances 2) top tier fantasy 3) "low brow fluff" (aka Vampire Dormitory). You appreciate a silly fun time and the term "banana pants" has entered my lexicon because of you. For (romance novels) it's, again: 1) Top tier crafted romances 2) Hockey books 3) Silly books where you say things like "she's doing WHAT now?!" and ends up being a book you give a low rating to but had a good time with anyway? 4) Monster romances + whatever the trope equivalent of a yandere ML would be (a Very Bad Man who's a kitten for his love interest). Our book tastes tend to align for most things, it's just my tolerance for goofy stuff only comes with the full moon or something. It's *there*, just not often 😅 But I know I can rely on you to sift through a lot of it so I don't have to! 🫡
