The DLC kept on getting better and better with every wave. It went from kinda meh in early 2022 to HOLY SHIT THIS IS PHENOMENAL in late 2023.

Wave 5 was my least favourite. Purely because of the 2 Wii tracks at once which no matter what anyone says, we absolutely did not need 2 Wii tracks in 1 wave for both the last 2 waves

I think Daisy Circuit is third in the cup mainly to separate the similar tropical vibes of DKM and PPC, but also as a sunset track it leads nicely into the nighttime of PPC. (Yes I know Sunset Wilds and Riverside Park both come second in their respective cups.) And the choice of Rosalina's Ice World makes sense not only because it's winter-themed, but it HAS AN UNDERWATER section. The only other course with underwater in the entire Wave 6 is PPC. So it's an obvious choice, really.

Like I said in the projections video, Special 2 courses tend to stay in slot 2 on the right most cup on the screen. Moonview was quite the exception.

The worst part about Pipeline not being added is that we now have 31 “nitro” tracks in the game instead of an even 32. This will haunt me for the rest of my days. Ah well. I like RIW as well, so at least I have that to look forward to. Although I would have preferred DS Airship Fortress myself

Wave 6 looks to have the same level of graphical polish as waves 3 and 4 after wave 5 was more hit and miss. I'm glad we got another 3DS track, and Rosalina's Ice World is a good choice. That drift at the start and the icicle cave are unique segments not seen in other snow tracks. Piranha Plant Pipeline will probably be saved as the one Tour retro for the next Mario Kart. It's been one hell of a wild ride, but I think the Booster Course Pass will go down as one of the best DLCs ever made. 48 tracks, 8 characters, 17 Mii costumes, custom items, and a jukebox. What a great value.

Also, I'm guessing pipeline is either getting saved for MK 9/10/11 (depending on how they count) or being saved for a new BCP. Since it seems like Tour is now considered a core MK game so it could be in the next MK's retro tracks. They might even use the left over remakes from tour for the next MK's retro tracks. OR They are going to make a second booster course pass. I kind of hope they do as long as its a Halo MCC/Hearts of Iron 4 situation. Where they have team members who can't do their jobs for the next MK yet because they are reliant on content to be made first or that they are so close to finishing the next MK game that they send the guys who've finished their work on the next MK game to work on a 2nd DLC pass. Also Also, kinda surprised they didn't end up any new items with the left over two slots.

i saw a timeline where both piranha tracks made it, or neither in the timeline where neither made it, i envisioned a DS track (mansion or fortress) and a 3DS track (Shipyard or Ice World) in their place just to have more fan favorites The fact that they brought ONE of the piranha plant courses was still a shock, even tho i was on a weirdly close track. i thought there was a chance both wouldn't make it to just make them weird "tour exclusives"

The last thing in question is if they shift the meta to where heavy weights are dominate just so they can make funky Kong good. I highly doubt it, but mkwii fan service is strong. And they did show peachette on teddy buggy with rolllers

There will definitely be a meta shift I think but won't be towards heavies most likely. The stat changes have been small adjustments and even a small bump in speed or mini turbo won't make them better than the medium weights overall. What would make sense if they want him to be popular is to give him the same stats as Dry Bowser, Wario, and Heavy Mii as that weight class has 28 world records (one of the highest behind the yoshi class) so he sees some TT play and isn't a throw pick online.

Here's my take on the Wii Rainbow Road's lap system: With the existence of 200cc, 3 laps instead of 2, AND being faster than Tour's version, I can safely say that it's not going to be cut into multiple laps in a single loop (Like in N64 Rainbow Road), as it would be considered to be the shortest track in the entire game if it were the case. If you've played the original Wii iteration, one lap around the course would be 00:50.00 if driving casually. In total of 3 laps, it would take 2 minutes (or 2:30.000, if driving casually) to complete the course regularly, depending on what CC you're using. But who knows? Word records can manage to make it shorter, so we'll see what happens when the next update will be released.

Well now we can only hope however unlikely it may be that they will add in the remaining non costume Tour characters as character DLC passes. Additionally I will never understand why they left Piranha Plant Pipeline out as Nintendo has been preserving the other Tour Tracks, either way it’s up to the fans now to perverse this track as we don’t know if it will ever come back in a future game especially since ina sense it could end up being lost forever on the day Tour shuts down.

Similar to how 8 was ported to switch with 8dx (dlc included) since mainstream games are selling for $70 now I don't think that's too unrealistic and then Nintendo could avoid the "less than 96 track problem" with a traditional mario kart release. Add some car parts and characters and fan favorite tracks and it would be good enough for most people to facilitate the switch (pun intended) over to the next gen

However, Daisy Circuit had the slight advantage over Ice World, considering it was recent. But I looked at Ice World again from 2 days ago..and it looked really good in Tour…I was then thinking if they were gonna do a middle finger move on Double Dash Fans..instead it was Pipeline. I want to explain why Rosalina’s Ice World and Daisy Circuit is in Wave 6. But I am tired from School, got a 89 on my Exam. Now we need to see what was Ice World’s file code.

As much I as I can't help myself to feel a little sad about Airship Fortress not being added, I also wasn't getting my hopes up for it in the first place since all I wanted was Waluigi Pinball (I was also fresh off of being so upset about 2B not making it into the very toxic FP2 in smash, so I definitely had super underwhelmingly low expectations for MK8D), and I got my wish way earlier than I expected. Airship Fortress was just a bonus, but I still love that course with all my heart, and even though I also love RIW very much, I still kinda wish it didn't have to mean saccing Airship Fortress for it

Piranha Plant Pipeline's absence in Wave 6 actually makes me believe a BCP 2 is more possible than vefore, especially because of how we only got some of the Tour Mii costumes (and none of the character costumes either). Besides, a new Mario Kart doesn't feel necessary, especially if the rumoured "new" console is just another Switch (like the SNES was an upgraded NES), to which they can just make Switch games backwards compatible (same with NSO accounts). Not to mention Battle Mode was abandoned where the BCP kept everything else alive, so I don't think this is the end for 8DX content.

I got a fun topic for you perhaps: should mario kart 9 do something like Crash Team Racing's adventure mode? An adventure map where you get access to each track's regular race, time trial, and another play mode, work your way up to the GPs, have boss races against characters with hilariously unfair access to one of the weapons (vs donkey kong with DK having infinite bananas would be an example), with the main goal of this mode as the way you unlock all the characters.

I don't think they will, but it'd be a way to spice things up. If they go the route where they need more than 32 courses (likely), it may be worth abandoning cups all together at that point too. Definitely think I'm going to dabble in asking the question of what this all even looks like though in the near future. So we'll see.

the only way I think the jukebox will be any good is if like you said you can change menu and lobby music but the biggest thing it'll need to be of any use in my opinion is letting you change the music of any track to whatever you want otherwise it's useless because like you said KZbin and other things exist where we can listen to the songs and for free at that

Honestly I didn't totally dislike the picks in the Booster Course Pass. This includes the controversial Mario Circuit 3. I understand that it is a bit underwhelming for a DLC, but honestly, being the first ever type of track in the whole series, I like that it got in. And then Sky Garden. WHERE ANTIGRAVITY?? Besides that, I think it was a great option. As for the City Tracks, they're also the least interesting part of the whole pass, but as someone who doesn't play Tour, I see them as new tracks so I welcome it. There are a few that I don't like as much, like Toad Circuit, Mushroom Ridge/Mario Circuit DS (either one since they're similar visual wise, but both of em over Airship Fortress, Delfino Plaza, or Luigi's Mansion?) , Sunset Wilds (since it doesn't have the sunsetting), and Rock Rock Mountain. And almost all tracks feel like they could've been baked more in the graphical and visual area. I feel that if they looked a bit more like the base game, people wouldn't complain as much. Sky Garden, Coconut Mall, Choco Mountain, Snow Land, Sky High Sundae, and majority of the Tour Tracks. Would've replaced Toad Circuit and Rock Rock Mountain with both Wuhu Island tracks. Mario Circuit and Mushroom Ridge with Delfino Plaza and Airship Foretress. And lastly, either give Sunset Wilds a sunset and a make over, or replace it with any other cool track from the series (this includes Snow Land too but ehhh I don't mind Snowland too much honestly), like Shy Guy Bazaar, Luigi's Mansion, Toad's Factory, or Dino Dino Park. Honestly these 4, and Piranha Plant Pipeline are asking for another wave.

The only thing that I'm not a huge fan of with these is the over abundance of Wii tracks, don't get me wrong, I LOVE MKWii, but I feel like MKDS and DD should've gotten some more love (not saying that they didn't) and ROB should've been in the game instead of Peachette, other than that, I'm satisfied

We still have gorge gap jump and the DK summit double cut, this one is much smaller even though I absolutely loved it on the wii. Also, those hairpin turns might actually be challenging to take well and, as a time trialer main, I don't hate the decision but will never be mad at someone for saying they do

Really bummed that Piranha Plant Pipeline didn't make it. I REALLY hope it makes it into the next game with full Anti-Gravity, because GOD it would've been so unique (Tall Trunk's Slide vibes)

i'm torn, there are such good tracks in this wave, and at the same time some baffling choices. i didn't need DK mountain, we already had DK summit which is the same concept. also, Rosalina Ice World is so bland to me, one of the more forgettable 3DS tracks. how could they add that over Airship Fortress?

Honestly PPP looked kinda boring in the gameplay I saw of it. I would’ve gotten bored of it pretty fast. I’m also nostalgic for Rosalina’s ice world, so I’m a bit biased lmao
