If the city is booting cars they’re taking track of who’s still owing them money for the boot. The boot is for unpaid fines, and numerous violations. That person who gets their boot off will still have a bill. So it’s only a matter of time before the city strikes back and starts charging penalties for unauthorized boot removal. It sucks, but it is what it is. Just pay your fines and you won’t get booted. Js.

As a cinematographer I'll tell you those other stories are easier to capture. Most of us documentarians dont like to film them but it's easier than to find two women removing boots. For consistent content it's what has to be filmed. Meaning, it was easier for me to film people on the street who just wanted attention than the boot girls who may charge me $5000 to film them.

He’s a locksmith who makes and sells keys for car boots to civilians. He’s their manager because there’s a lot of different types of boot locks and booting companies are getting more creative so he’s often making new keys and picking locks that the girls don’t already have a key for.

Regardless, what does them paying income taxes have anything to do with the fact that all they’re doing is charging less than the city or county who’s booting the vehicles and issuing tickets? Like I said, if they were truly “vigilantes” they wouldn’t be charging anything. Sure, they’re charging a lot less, but don’t advertise the business like it’s some benevolent act they’re doing. Just advertise the business as a far less expensive option.
