It's not even that this is a bad game that makes it funny, it's how dishonest and greedy the devs are that make it so surprising to me that people still defend it. Ample evidence has been given of their strong arm and thug tactics to shut down criticism in their forums as well as trying to get back at those wanting refunds as well as their recycled game assets and other cheap shortcuts to put out a zombie game as quickly as possible to cash in on a craze. coolcat1711 actually valve threatened the people making infestation because they were perma baning people on the forums who were complaining, stopped alot of the forward progress of the development of the game, while telling people they were working hard. Valve stepped in and said "look our community took a chance with you, straighten up or we'll send refunds and ban You." trust me they fixed it up, it's gotten SO much better. infact it's getting better every update. trust me i play it and am not a big fan of it. i have not recomended it to anyone. BUT, i will say, valve did a good job making sure that games devs got on there shit, changed a few devs if im not mystaken.

I guess it is about time to rethink your opinion on Dayz. Because now they charge an amount of money which is in no comparsion to the games content. To me Dayz is almost as bad as Warz is except for the fact that Dayz does not offer micro transactions. Anyway in the current state both games are about equally broken or unfinished.

dayz was released as a Early Access, there are many, many warnings, and it clearly states that it's Alpha. You cannot compare that to Warz, which was released as a "full game", false advertising, and no warnings about the glitches and bugs. Dayz developers care about the game they are making. Warz developers kinda just seem to like money.

You clearly havnt followed the dayz sa development mutch. Just taking a look at their information policy wants to make me puke and it does everything but make anymone be able to actively support development. Sure they added a disclaimer warning their audience that this isnt even close to finished but on the same page they lie to customer because you cant influence, support or help development in any way. Just go over to their forums and take a look yourself at the mess going on there.

snoMedia yea well maybe its due to the fact that money is earned much faster than game content can be created. so yea he has much money, just wait for it now (eventhough they really should take the game off right now to solve all the silly unexpected patch related issues)

snoMedia Cant influence the game? You do know that mods will be allowed for dayz right? Modding influences the game to the highest level. And how the fuck can you say dayz is as bad as warz? Its not the fact that warz is a bad game that people hate it, its the fact that its a complete rip off of stolen ideas from dayz. They couldn't even get a original name for fucks sake. Plus there is WAY more to come to make dayz a full, great game.

***** If you rered my comment you might notice that i am talking about the _current_ condition of both games. Im not looking into what maybe might come in a distant future because both had promises which are not fulfilled. I know WarZ is broken and probably never will be fixed. And i also know that the DayZ SA Developent just about really started but thats not the point. The point is Dayz and WarZ alike are merely a framework of what might or might not become a good game at some point. If and when that will happen is pure speculation. Taking that as a basic knowledge Dayz and WarZ are not far apart from another in their _current condition_.

I think the warz had a great idea, but pulled it off horribly. They wanted a more arcadey/action version of dayz. I think a good example of this being pulled off nicely is nether, which it seems to be what the warz wanted to be.

While WarZ or whatever it's called now is definitely horrible, the idea that it's a DayZ clone is kind of suspect. DayZ is a mod to Arma II. It's only recently become a stand alone and even then it relies heavily on an already polished game for almost all of it textures minus the character skins and some animations. There were dozens of other mods for Arma II already out there and it's surprising how DayZ got popular. Having played Arma II for so long I was really surprised at how fast DayZ took off despite it being total crap in the beginning. On the other hand this game uses textures, models, sounds, and a GUI that's totally different. Since development from the ground up takes substantially longer than creating an ArmA mod, it's easy to believe that they did in fact have this in development before DayZ. Also remember that DayZ was total crap when it first came out but was polished over months. This WarZ or infestation or whatever is still crappy though. Considering the amount of cash they've got from game purchase and micro-transactions, there really isn't any excuse for the total lack of development.

Ok, recap on my last post. Watching "The WarZ-Lies and False Advertising" explains a lot about the games origin. Yeah it did exist long before DayZ. The problem was that it was a generic FPS game called War Inc. They merely swapped out some textures and gave it a zombie theme to capitalize on the whole zombie craze. So only half truths on their part about developing this beforehand. Supposedly, War Inc was more polished which in turn means there is even less of an excuse for the total failure of graphics, lack or loot, or other items.

It is a ripoff cause it used Day Z's formula and did not try to innovate or differentiate it from the game in any way. They simply borrowed assets from another game (War Inc) and made War Z out of it. Its basically War Inc, but with zombies. It does not take much effort or time to take a game like War Inc and simply add zombies in it, a job like that can easily be pulled off within a few months, especially when you cut corners like they clearly did with this game. Look at Tom Clancy's: The Division for example. It too embraces the open world survival genre but they actually done something different with it than simply copy pasting ideas that someone else has come up with. The only thing War Z actually does different is that it tries to nickel and dime you with its ridiculous cash shop that contradicts the whole survival aspect of their game to begin with. Undead Labs done a open world zombie survial game as well (State of Decay), but they actually tried to mix things up instead of copy pasting someone else's ideas. They actually tried to innovate, and make their game stand out.
