It was still a good game though, Notts are my second team and we went into this game with no expectations so I can’t say I’m heartbroken. I just had to defend us against your points. He moans about the free kick which was a free kick three players had a dig at RR and yes he did go down theatrically to get it, yet a clear penalty on Jake Reeves, a clear penalty for the handball yet he conned the ref by holding his face, Notts looked shaky when you attacked yet you chose to play nasty negative football. I'm not bitter with Chesterfield but your blinkered manager needs to hold his hands up and be graceful in defeat.

This is what he’s always like blaming officials whether we win or lose, and criticism is justified most of the times. But today we just weren’t good enough and fairplay to notts they look a lot more ready to go up. I’m just glad we got to the playoffs given the circumstances at the start of the season and the injuries we’ve suffered throughout. Next year with fans back for a full season I believe we will be right up there 💙

Was a really good game as a Notts fan you played very well in the first half but slowly lost legs in the second half...the ref didn't help things for either side with Notts having a clear penalty waved away but Tyson should have scored when he was 1v1 with our keeper tbh ur manager just needed to say we just fallen short and respect the opposition instead of making excuses.... good luck for next season and look forward to playing you again whether it's next season or not

James has done a great job this year but no sub keeper is a *basic* error, beyond basic, especially given its a knockout game. We looked like we could win it but the decision with having no sub goalie cost us a win today. The cross for the 3rd goal was about 2 yards off the line when Ellis headed it in, surely a tall outfield player should have gone in for the last 10, Phil Jagielka style

Great game to watch. Notts fan here. Thought both teams showed excellent desire and commitment and the game could have gone either way. Just a shame Rowe is throwing his toys out the pram. We should have had a defo pen for handball. The ref evened it out and gave us a soft free kick, which is nowhere near as valuable as a pen. Your defence should have dealt with it. Rowe is classless, but you have a very good team full of groks and will be up there next season no doubt. Good advert for the NL that game was.

How can he talk about honesty when hus team was time-wasting after 30 minutes and even time-wasting at half time - having to be dragged on to the field by the referee. Good comment Blem. Diving and time wasting (not blaming either side) is a fact of life in the NL because the officials are not quite up to the job. Most NL games are rife with it and that is how some of the smaller,lesser teams get to mix it with the bigger better financed clubs. The NL really is a horrible league and getting out of it is the dream of any former FL club. Commiserations to the Spirites and best of luck to the Pies.

@@ericreckless541 Yeah diving is one of those things where it’s good when it happens to you but really annoys you when it goes against you. In fairness I’ve seen many games where diving in way less important games has been worse than ours today. The National League must be one of the hardest leagues in the world to get promoted from, I don’t even know the last time a team got relegated and came back up the following season, just look at Hartlepool, Dagenham and Redbridge, Chesterfield, Yeovil, Barnet and so on

Lots of clubs have had that problem this season, it's even affected notts during the season but our second choice keeper is an outfield player luckily.. Schmicheal Doyle. Seriously the National League should at least change to 6 subs with one position that can only be filled by a goalkeeper at least. But can't change the rule during a season.
