I always wondered if the DK bongo controller was just a heavy, awkward piece of plastic, or if they could actually be serviceable bongos. It would be cool if that game got someone into actually playing bongos.

The bongos are very light weight, and only make a dull thump sound when you strike them. They don't resound anything like normal bongos. Also there's a microphone in the center so you can clap. So actually you have 5 controls. Left strike, Right strike, together strike, drumroll, and clap. Sucks IMO.

I remember there was a sub goal that was reached at an event for the speedrunners to use DK bongos for their simultaneous speedrun race through Dive Kick.

I love all the DK games- it's my favorite Nintendo series. Really a shame that they haven't released any since Tropical Freeze. I'd love another DK 64-style DK game on modern hardware

Someone has probably already mentioned it but Donkey Kong Country 2 is called Diddy's Kong-Quest. Not Diddy Kong's Quest. I made the same mistake for years until I heard someone say it correctly in another KZbin video. To say the least, my mind was blown. XD
