They made it as big as other Canadian bands in Canada. Just because they didn't have big international success, doesn't mean they failed.

REALLY??? #Canada is Less than 2% of the #Global Market while in the 80's the USA represented about 63%. HOWEVER, today... The #USA only represents about 22% with our #IT growth while #AFRICA, #CHINA and SOUTH #ASIA represent Over 50%. In fact, #Nigeria alone represents over 200 Million people! The global scene has become more involved and Open to business #opportunities The #DigitalWorld includes SO Many More potential Partners in commerce and opportunities TODAY. The Box had a melodic sensibility that few bands possess. The variety of musical ideas that flowed from their writing and performance is worthy of multiple awards. They are epically under appreciated.

I finally found this gem tonight 7:30PM February 7th 2024. I spent 20-25 years trying to remember this song and all I had was Arry-on but I was remembering it as AR-A(Eh)-O(OH) for some reason, I can die happy now when my times comes, hopefully in 30-50 years :)

This #Single should have SOARED !!! It sure has a #PositiveMessage and confirms that #TheBoysClub is "letting them participate" as They Sure #DESERVE opportunities, and are Now starting to Gain Them. Historically, Women have proven that as #Leaders they're not only #capable but #Caring and deserve greater #Leadership roles. Some our Greatest #Business and #PoliticalLeaders have been Women! Don't you believe that they Deserve Equal Access and Full Participation? Curious... #women #poli #work #caring #performance #resultsmatter #music #cdnmusic #cdnpoli #cdn

But, Women still have Tough Times getting their businesses funded and supported... They are often #Ideal Managers and #Administrators, which culturally may be directly related to their "herstorical" strength running our Family #Homelives... Any Thoughts?

Pisapia has explained somewhere once that this record was made in LA and the label and producer wanted to give them an L.A. kind of sound because they hoped it would be the record to break them in the USA (that was the goal and they put money behind it) and i think he considers it was a case of feeling like he had to follow the big shots' will but doesn't think much of the record now. I personally certainly prefer their earlier stuff. Not to mention while 80'S stuff has had a second and third wind, that sort of late 80'S early 90's stuff is pretty much stuck in that era. Like nobody is trying to emulate this now.

Because the label released their album at the same time that a compilation of the Beatles was released with the name of " The Cube ". So Jean-Marc said it was an horrible abd terrible error to release 2 albums with relatively the same name " The Box " & " The Cube ". That's the reason why it never really started up in the USA.....

They were smart singing in English-nationwide appeal. As a 15 year old kid from Calgary in 1986, I wouldn’t give a rat’s ass about a band from Montreal singing in french (one hit wonder mitsou aside), but I kind of dig The Box.

And this is the song where the kept the hooks, but had no story behind it, nothing distinctive. It's just another rock-blues song, unfortunately, even if it is slickly produced. A shame, for their first two albums are stellar, individualistic efforts, with consistently inventive lyrics.
