Her mannerisms are SCARILY spot-on and in profile there is an uncanny resemblance to Garland. While the speech and singing are vague approximations of what Judy sounded like, they do capture the essence of Judy Garland. All of these elements together make a performance that is not only impressive but unexpectedly moving.

I saw her in this show, and she was incredible. I was only eight years old when Judy died, so I never knew her at that point except as Dorothy Gale. Watching Isabel Keating to me was like watching the healthy and talented Judy from her 1963-1964 series. Both women were terrific!

Isabel Keating is simply magnificent as Garland. I never had the chance to see the immortal Judy but when I saw THE BOY FROM OZ, I felt as close to the Judy Garland experience as I'll ever get - thanks to Keating's brilliant portrayal. Keating feels the music deeply.

Keating was brilliant, she did get an award for her portrayal... I think that means more than a couple comments from rando's trashing her. NO ONE could have played this role BUT KEATING.
