A young boy faces a daily battle with a rare condition which causes him to severely injure himself. Davey Wicklund, 11, from Renton, Washington, has a rare inherited disorder that affects his muscle control called Lesch Nyhan syndrome. Davey’s mother, Jaren explained: "Lesch Nyhan syndrome is basically cerebral palsy with self injury. Davey has got the extreme. He cannot stand, walk, he cannot pull his head up for long time, independently. He has got the muscle strength, but not the ability to control.” The parents have to take special measures daily to ensure that Davey doesn’t hurt himself; including arm braces, kangaroo-type pouches to tuck his legs in and a rubber mouth contraception to stop him biting his lip.

There's a point where love becomes costly. A point where kindness is no longer worth it. A point where the time, money and effort put into something is just not worth it. That child is not worth it, it will never contribute to to anything, it will never even reach full adulthood. That child is nothing more than a burden, something that should be put down just like a sick old dog. What a waste...

I don't know what kind of paranoid caring is about keeping people with disabilities and depression alive in this way when they see the world ahead when they can't do anything. They must be given a path of mercy, a mother who loves her suffering children must support the decision to assist suicide.

Seeing him just be a normal, regular boy even with his disability- that brought me so much joy for no specific reason. I'm able bodied, I don't have to deal with that, and I'm thankful that I don't, but look at him- You get to see him being so happy and kind and caring, and everyone around him is so caring as well- that feels like it's important. My brother too has Lesch Nyhan. His name is Simon and just turned 17. We are from Denmark so we are very lucky the Danish healthcare system pays for sugerys and helps with stuff as wheelchairs, home helpers all day and our own van with a lift. Even lifts in our roof so we don't have to carry him around and hurt our backs. Hes a big boy around 6'2 (190 cm). Simon loves driving in the van and when he is most in peace its in the van in his wheelchair, its like all his symptoms disappear and he can just chill. We have 3 caretakers right now so they have don't have to go fulltime but 2 shifts a week. We gone through ALOT of caretakers some very good some very bad :D. 1 of the caretakers have been in Simos life in 10+ years so she is a big part of our family and even have a relationship with her parents and siblings. I loved this video and totally love Davey. Big ups to you guys for letting Davey have as great a life a lesch nyhan kid can have

This is one of the most touching videos I have seen. As a mother of a child with a disability, I felt when she talked about images of sad disabled kids. The enviroment that this entire family, including those unrelated family and friends, has created for him is God and true love in action.

Nobody agrees he should be given CBD injections? Also, he is hurting himself because he is not outdoors, the indoors are affecting his mind in immediate spontaneous ways that make his actions violently hurtful. I'm glad his mother records it all, I hope he gains control and the ability to be very specific and detailed about how it all felt. Because he can't express himself nor get cure atm. The sceptics and big farma liars are going to stop him from getting miraculous CBD cure, but I really hope he heals quickly to be a strong testimony.
