I read The Teacher and really enjoyed that one. Thanks for your review, makes we want to pick this one up too.

I read The Teacher and it is BY FAR my favorite Frieda book. It can be triggering, so if you are sensitive to inappropriate relationships…it might be difficult to get through. Otherwise, it was fantastic! So many twists…until the very end. Can’t wait to hear your review on this one!

She also published a satirical novella this year too. I highly recommend for anyone who likes satire. 😂

Great review Ian! Her books are hit or miss for me and they are pretty silly, shallow and not well written but fun and twisty so I keep reading them! Boyfriend sounds so good!

You basically summed up my general opinion on her books perfectly. 😂 This one is a step in the right direction, though!

I might have to read this one! I read The Wife Upstairs and thought it was okay. I haven't been too keen on reading more by her, but you have convinced me to put this on my TBR!

Let me know if you pick this one up!

Hi Ian, I came looking for the review of The Boyfriend as I read it in one sitting today. I thought I had this figured out by Chapter 2, but boy was I wrong! I guessed the "team" , but darn if I wasn't wrong about the super. This was a very quick and fun read. I agree with you that the writing style was easy to follow. Great review, thanks for sharing your opinion!

I just want to know one thing whether tom really loved Syd or he always loved daisy because the ending left me confused.his action made me question his feelings for her.Also I think you should try the teacher. The intersenting thing about the book is either you would hate it or you would love it.

This book made me so frustrated!! But enough to keep me interested. I did not like the FMC and the decision she made. & the thing she did in the epilogue made me roll my eyes.

Yeah, the character definitely made some interesting decisions in this novel haha. With Frieda McFadden books, that’s what I’ve come to expect. Glad we both had at least somewhat of a good time with it though!

Ok, this does sound intriguing. How's the language in this book? A lot of profanity? But the premise sounds super spooky... I may have to add it to my ever-growing TBR! Thank you, Ian!
@ianthereader3 ай бұрын
Definitely a hefty amount of language as well as some sexual content. If those things aren’t to your taste in fiction, may want to steer clear!

I just finished this one and I would say there was barely any profanity and sexual content was suggestive not descriptive... if it were a movie it would be rated PG-13

Hi Ian. Very good review I also really liked this novel as well. I also agree Never Lie is not one of my favorites. Other books by her I really liked would be the 2nd housemaid book (not the 3rd). I also really liked The Locked Door and the Inmate. I was not fond of The Teacher personally.

Thank you for the recs! I’ll probably try The Locked Door soon!

I feel like you spoiled the book a bit. Instead of going into detail about her friend being dead I would say a “tragedy happened” idk
@ianthereader3 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment! I’m sorry if I lessened your desire to read it or your future reading experience with this book at all. The incident takes place in the first 5% of the book or so and a death is mentioned in the blurb for the book, so I didn’t think of it as a spoiler. I’ll definitely keep this in mind for future reviews! Thanks again.

I'm sorry, but I thought it was terrible. Thrillers aren't fun when the author purposefully misleads you for no reason. Literally the entire premise is false.

Sorry to hear this one didn’t work for you! Her books are definitely divisive- this one is no exception!

@@ianthereader The Teacher is the only one I have enjoyed. I also have issues with her as a person, so that doesn't help.
