I'm personally happy, but the thing is most of the new content this season also ended this season. V24, Soldier Boy, etc. have the potential to come back but not much really developed, especially considering how everyone thought this would be the season that Homelander went full-on unapologetic serial killer. Also a lot of people wanted a Homelander vs. Soldier Boy fight, which they didn't exactly get, and for Noir to get more development. Knowing this show since we don't see his corpse honestly he could be fine considering he survived getting his brains punched out, but it's not likely. The episode definitely wrapped up the generational trauma and toxic masculinity themes for this season very well though, and the fight scenes were pretty great

The boys know more of homelanders weaknesses butcher having limited time to live and many more things. This comparison makes no sense things did change. Going by the comic there is still a lot more characters and plot lines that need to start. Of course they didn’t change literally everything we still have at least two more seasons worth of story.

Yeah I’m a bit disappointed that Ryan was used as a linchpin to make everyone turn on Soldier Boy. Maeve was the only one who remembered Homelander was still a threat lmao. Now it makes sense that for Butcher Ryan is off limits but they could’ve easily moved him out of the way. Soldier Boy is clearly the lesser of the two evils. It’s not like they couldn't have turned on SB the very SECOND homelander was down and taken him out, he couldn't have beaten them, especially when he's weakened post-beam or using the vapor. Also the fight itself was pretty lacklustre imo. HL largely unscathed, everyone teaming up on SB was just convenient - everyone but Maeve just forgot about HL. And Starlight’s energy surge culminated in shoving him about 5 metres away. The whole point is to take down Homelander. Don’t want Ryan to get in between? Well, 1. Get him out, hold him back and let SB etc do the job 2.Shit you’re out of luck. The plan was to take out Homelander since the start of the season and now it’s about the Vought tower even though most people have evacuated

The show is about an ex-con who comes to an Amish town (Pennsylvania), hiding from a crime boss by taking on the identity of a dead Sheriff (Lucas Hood) by bringing his own form of justice in this small town.

I'm confused why Homelander didn't just kill everyone at the end, and if not in front of Ryan, then the moment he goes to sleep. the direction they took the show, there was no more pretense about their intentions to kill each other, and before an agreement with Becca and threat of the plane video going out kept Homelander at bay. Now that Becca is gone and Homelander has nobody to answer to nor does he care about the video (as there are plenty of just as damning ones out there now), why is he not demolishing the boys at first chance?

Yeah, going from "let's go out scorched earth" in the first episode to everyone just walking away after the fight could have been handled better. This episode had so much tension building up that the fight and aftermath just didn't really stick the landing for me. It was a nice callback to season 2 finale where Ryan picks homelander instead.

My best guess is that Homelander cared more about getting Ryan out of there than killing everyone. Since he doesn't care about any of the incriminating videos against him, so there's no reason to kill the Boys. Nothing would really change. His priority shifted from killing everyone to keeping Ryan safe.

This finale just felt "off" from the beginning of the episode. The pacing, the tone...it was a bit different than the previous episodes. Having Noir be the ONLY main character to die felt like a cheat after all the buildup. In the entire final fight, nobody was seriously injured. Aside from the missing eye, even Maeve was walking around and smiling the next morning. And where the fuck was A-Train in the final battle? Felt like way too "safe" of an ending, especially for a show that is known for really pushing things. Also, the Boys at the end are just all cool with each other again? Starlight joining after all her issues with Butcher & Hughie? Kimiko & Frenchie staying, after everything they discussed about leaving during the season? Everyone welcoming Butcher back like nothing happened? Butcher just focusing on Neuman instead of Ryan being with Homelander?

I loved the theme of fathers this season. As MM says, we just can’t seem to get rid of whatever evil persists while showing this evil is learned from one generation to the next and it goes back far. And on the flip side you have MM, Butcher, and Hughey, trying to turn that generational learning into something good even though that good gets misguided. Ryan’s evolution is just as much Butcher’s fault as it is Homelander’s. That fatal error of Butcher’s is an unintended consequences but a consequence none the less. By the time he realizes it the damage has already been done. MM finally being honest with his daughter is a wonderful progress to end a cycle as is Hughey realizing what he thought as his father’s weakness was really his strength and that ignorance was what drove him to make these foolish decisions. The show did a great job of keeping some hope alive for the future while showing it’s an endless uphill battle.

There's something different about Homelander and Ryan's laser...it's apparently WAY more powerful than butcher's Heat Vision. Let me say why :- In the scene, where SB was trying to NUKE WAVE Homelander and Ryan together after knocking down Ryan, butcher stopped SB with Heat Vision, but SB didn't move an INCH, he just stood there and blocked it, until Homelander Lasered and he was sent flying. Now, think about how Ryan's Laser also sent SB flying, but when butcher directly Heat Visioned SB's face it didn't do any damage. Personal Note - Ryan's Laser is pretty much as strong as Homelander's even though he's a child. He's gonna be a MENACE once he grows up, especially if he grows up on the path hinted at the end of Season 3.

Why the hell is everyone acting like Soldier Boy is even remotely comparable to Homelander in levels or evil? Soldier Boy has never, that we've seen, killed an innocent person on purpose. Even MM's family thing sounds accidental. And while reading this please keep in mind, I'm not saying SB is a hero. I'm saying he's no where NEAR Homelander's level of bad. And I'm not even convinced that Legend guy was telling the truth about SB not being a real part of D-Day. Stan said Soldier Boy fought Nazi's & young Stan said he was a tested warrior. Both of those were in relative private situations where Stan didn't need to lie. Especially when he told Homelander about SB. SB has done nothing but be a fucking BEAST this entire time. He never gets scared of a fight. During the flashback while the rest of Payback was bumbling around he was actually wrecking the enemy. Even when he starts to lose a fight he doesn't get scared like when HL got the edge on him in Herogasm. He still kept fighting & was still ready to kill HL after that. He faced Down HL in this episode without a fear in the world. He literally whooped everyone's ass this episode. It took all of them to barely hold him after a long fight. And he seemed to actually care about the Afgan situation when talking to Hughie. He seemed pretty genuine to me when he said he didn't mean to kill/hurt the people in midtown. SB is not a Villain in my opinion. Matter fact Both Homeland AND Butcher are worse people than him. He didn't straight up kill MM during their first encounter. He didn't start killing everyone when they confronted Butcher this episode at the hideout. He literally recognizes that HL is evil & didn't side with him. Again, SB isn't a Saint. He might not even be a good guy. But he's not EVIL like Homelander. He's not even bad like Butcher. I just don't understand why so many Reactors are acting like SB was the worst person ever. Edit: And lets not forget that SB was ultimately right in the end. Ryan literally smirked at HL killing that guy. Sure the dude threw something but it was pretty fucking obvious the kid was a supe & wouldn't die or get hurt. Even if Ryan turns good again later SB would've been right to have killed HL this episode even if Ryan died or got hurt in the effort.

Totally ruined the overall show's plotline. Giving Noir better character development than the other mediocre characters mainly from the Boys crew only to give him the most disappointing death (and stupid considering he's one of the franchise's biggest characters). Nerfed the f out of him in this show. Kept the comic relief charcter The Deep, A-Train, Starlight MM, and Maeve alive and killed Noir. And then Butcher stopping SB to finish the job we've seen him try to complete throughout this season. Good fight scene and visual effects dosen't equal good storyline / plot . Pretty disappointing, will give the Finale episode 4/10 at best.

I REALLY like how there are different views on that complex ending between the main characters. The writing is amazing... And I didn't expect to actually feel for Homelander as it's really tragic what made him the way he was. Makes one think what he could have been rather than horrible abuser to those that he viewed beneath him. The fact that he was so heart broken that Noir lied to him says a lot to how high he regarded him...possibly even a friend. If only Homelander wasn't messed up in the head he could have possibly reconciled with him. And as much as I really liked Solider Boy despite his flaws, what was about to happen with Ryan really made me question if he or Homelander is worse. Yeah what he did earlier that season was terrible but the fact that Solider Boy was to willing to do and Ryan who was technically his own Grandson really made the finale a bigger thought-provoker than I was expecting... On another note I don't think Noir is actually dead; I honestly feel that the writers have proper plans for ending his character arc and wouldn't just kill him off in such an underwhelming way especially with what we got to learn about him. At least that's what I am hoping on....

Even if Butcher talked him into it, the fact that he still agreed to it n his reason behind it being that he was 'weak' n calling him a disappointment for it n not because he was a monster n had hurt people. With a mentality like that, he would've never been a better father to him if he was around n would've just ended up abusing him as the rest of his team back then making him a piece of shit regardless. The only redeemable one is Ryan cuz he's still a kid n felt rejected by Butcher but felt accepted n forgiven by Homelander. At least Homelander gets to have a test of real love via Ryan but I don't see it lasting long. For what it's worth, he could probably die a happy man which is more than he deserves.

I know many people are pissed because of Ryan's decision. But I thought that he's doing that to protect Butcher in that moment, basically what Butcher did to him in the beginning of the season. I don't think he will turn bad at all. He might be the one fighting HL AND Butcher in the end, with Butcher helping him in the last moments before his death.

@@dajtoad1 to me it seemed like a forced smile.. i think he's actually afraid af. but let's wait and see. to me, for now, it wouldn't make any sense for ryan to go rogue. he has to be perfect balance between butcher and HL. otherwise the story wouldn't really make sense... but after that finale i keep my hopes low.

The way I see the difference between Hughie and Kimiko getting their powers is that Kimiko’s situation didn’t seem like she wanted her powers to take Frenchie off the frontline. There was no, “Me, supreme being. Me protect you.” Whereas Hughie never really portrayed that united front to me, like, if they were going to die, they’d die together. Instead, it was more like, now that he can fight, he’d take over and replace her on the battlefield, insisting that she sit it out on the sidelines.
