Someone has probably already mentioned it, but in the first season, Homelander asked Deep to point out the one thing that he couldn't see through, and Deep revealed that was zinc. They put Translucent's remains in a zinc-lined box to prevent Homelander from seeing inside it. When he smells Hughie and lasers the vents, he can't see him because HVAC vents are galvanized steel. The process of galvanizing steel involves adding a thin layer of zinc for corrosion protection. Homelander has also shown that most of his abilities need to be actively used. When he would have attempted to use his hearing to find Hughie, it stands to reason that the sound system and loud background noise caused problems there. I also imagine that the reason he's so pissed off on the roof is that he thinks Hughie teleported away via Temp V again. Though I suspect A-Train is going to get caught and killed within the next few episodes.

I’m a single dad who suffers from depression. When I first watched this episode, Hughie’s mother’s explanation as to why she left made me so angry. She left him because she was depressed? No, don’t you dare use the thing I suffer from to justify your awful behavior. There are days when I know for sure that my kid is the only thing keeping me alive. The thought of walking away from him, to me, is unfathomable. But I was wrong to judge her like that. Or, more accurately, I was wrong for judging the show on that point. It made me mad that they presented her reasoning as if it was valid, and I was wrong to be angry. As the character said, depression is pain, and pain makes us do things we wouldn’t otherwise do. Even in my certitude that I could never walk away from my son, there have been times where I was almost equally sure that he would be better off if I did. Anyway, all this is just to say that I probably would have continued on in my wrong and judgmental ways if it wasn’t for you and your reaction and your discussion of this topic. It put a dent in the ugly, self-righteous armor I was wearing, and sent me down a rabbit hole of research and enlightenment. I'm very sure it was a lobotomy stick that lay on the table. So I think being the smartest person in the world comes with a price. She has sex with the Deep, the lobotomy rod lies there used on the table. I think she made herself stupid for a short time to recover. That's the reason why she decided to sleep with Deep... stupidity. Now that Homelander goes back to his past, I make the prediction that he will meet his mother. And his mother is Storm/Liberty, the Nazi lady with whom he had sex in season 2. That would also fit the show. In season 3, Soldierboy told that he had sex with her and I think Homelander is the result of a mixture from the ovaries of Liberty that was taken from her (which is what Homelander also wanted to do with Meave) and Soldierboy's semen. By the way, I wouldn't be surprised if Storm/Liberty then appears in a Darth Vader-like outfit and says "I'm your mother". It would also have the advantage that you don't necessarily need the actress. Yes, I think Storm is still alive and Edgar is just hiding her. The Emperor will have made Darth Vader out of her. I would partying if my theory is correct. I also think Sage pursues good goals and goes over dead bodies for it. I think she has a huge master plan in which everything has worked out so far, as she imagined it, no matter if it looks to us like the Boys or Homelander have just won or lose something. I think her end goal will be to destroy Vaught and Homelander, no matter the cost. The Caesar story also includes that he is stabbed in the back by his closest confidants. Of course, the plan won't make it in the end, because we still have one season left, but I think her goal is a good one. I think Ryan is the only one who can kill Homelander. He's definitely stronger than his father. Homelander's Laser couldn't harm either Marie or Storm. Since Marie was immune to the Laser, Neuman will also be immune to it. Ryan, on the other hand, was able to destroy and almost kill Storm with his laser. So if anyone can stop Homelander and Neuman, it's Ryan. Neuman, I think, he won't do anything because he likes her daughter. So these are my ideas. Btw. Octopuses are highly intelligent. I think Ambrosia just wants to be free and does what it takes to manipulate Deep. Her first suggestion when something goes badly for Deep is to always take a vacation. Her only chance to escape.

18:24 I'd argue Homelander, Sam, and a bunch of others at Sage Grove had medical conditions. 33:39 A psychosis is a very different thing to depression (Powder from Arcane is a character that suffers from a major psychosis). That scene hit pretty close to home for a variety of reasons though. :/ 34:45 There's the devil I meant on the previous one... So far he has never been in the room with someone other than Butcher and he kinda always goes the route of old Butcher, while Becca urges him to be good (which, so far, has been what he was doing, minus the struggles). 36:08 It's an orbitoclast. She seems to lobotomizes herself to relax. Smart people have a hard time shutting off their active thoughts, which must be excessively worse for her as a super smart supe. Look, depression and postpartum are both very real, very serious conditions, and Huey’s mom’s story was indeed very sad. But it does not excuse 20 years of absence, with no phone call, no letter, no nothing. I want to validate her struggle because it surely is real, but I feel like she got off way too easy; Huey doesn’t owe her any sympathy and it feels like that’s what she wanted and that’s what she got.

In the comics Black Noir was a cloned Homelander with enhanced dna from Stormfront. He was a failsafe in case Homelander went rouge (like what is happening now). He didnt speak because others would be able to tell the voice. all the truly off things attributed to Homelander was done by Black Noir (Becky's rape for one) pretending to be Homelander in his free time.

Did MM do a complete 180 compared to last season? How is trying to turn A-train any different from teaming up with Soldier Boy? Don’t get me wrong, I hated MM and Starlight decision making last season, but a complete reversal with no one acknowledging it is somehow also annoying to me.

also, 10:14 - Bobby (not sure what it is here, I just know him as Bobby from Supernatural) his eyes got really creepy as the scene neared the end.....got real intense and wide...kinda like someone who may be just as bad and fanatical as the ones you don't like...."The enemy of my enemy is my friend" may be a saying that generally stands true, but just as easily can be just trading the red devil with the green one. Politics make strange bedfellows.

I don't actually know you Angela, or your Dad, but somehow I can only picture him grinning when you say something 'naughty'. You talk about your relationship with your parents so fondly that somehow I can't see him disapproving so much as getting a kick out of his daughter having so much fun doing what is, on the face of it, a weird side job.

Be wary of Hughie's mom, I think there is way more going on with her, and her Vought affiliation goes past just using their products. How do we know she really is his mother anyway? This storyline is going to either setup a bad outcome for Hughie and his father or it is part of something hidden that we the viewers have not seen yet for all the characters to be affected. Don't know yet but I simply do not trust her one bit. As far as Sage goes, she seems to also be doing something underhanded as well, but no one is catching on just yet. That bloodied tool on the table looks like something for a lobotomy and either she used it to dumb herself down (occasionally) or she got to that new Black Noir...Let's see.

my bet is that sister sage (hate that name) did not have a plan with the deep, the bloody thing looks like she trepanate herself to make herself dumber, maybe to be able to enjoy stuff for once, she(ll regenerate and be fine again, but the deep was for once at her level
