I think there's a really interesting parallel to be drawn between Frenchie's relationship with god and forgiveness for his sins (when those sins are criminal acts) and Firecracker's. Frenchie turns himself into the police because in a way his faith demands it; Firecracker sends out the tweet exposing her crimes and then immediately claims absolution in turning to god, fully intending to avoid any sort of earthly culpability and turn a scandal into a selling point.

One of Simon Pegg's first screen roles was Spaced, a 14 episode comedy directed by Edgar Wright (Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz, etc). One episode has a plot-line about his character's hatred for Jar Jar Binks. "I don't want to be Jar Jar."

Losing to Annie shouldn't be a benchmark of someone's weakness. That said, I'm pretty sure Firecracker is just there for her base and that she'd be a small town level hero otherwise at best if Vought assigned her even that much. She might be a complete wash out who didn't even warrant a Vought contract. As for comic readers knowing where the show is going... not really. Won't spoil anything in case you actually want to read the comic (I wouldn't recommend it, if you started with the show), but the show is it's own thing and has been all along. Most of what has happened in the comics by this point would be impossible to drop in without making radical changes that would utterly alienate the *entire* fanbase.

This one REALLY hurt me. My own father had a stroke and passed a few years ago due to complications from Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. This was during the pandemic, so I wasn't even allowed to be in hospital when Mom gave the order and took him off life support, I could only watch on a Zoom call. He wasn't even conscious, but it was the hardest thing I've ever had to is say goodbye. To say "I Love you, Dad" and not hearing him say "I love you too" back. I've felt like Hughie. I wish I could just FORCE Dad to come back. To not leave us. But Hugh's speech to Hughie about not wanting to end up like the Family Cat, Jar Jar, struck a chord with me. It's not about what I want. It's about what's best for the person who is hurting. I would have loved a moment like Hughie and Daphne, to get just another few hours with him. To say how much I loved him. How he helped me to become a better man. But one CAN'T do that to themselves. Living the rest of your life with "What If's?" Tell those people close to you you love them. Don't waste another minute. I think at this point at the latest it is clear that Joe is not real. On the bench, he shares personal information about Butcher's team that he can hardly know. And at the end, when Butcher talks to the professor and looks at Joe, the professor also looks in that direction, but his look says "where is Butcher looking and who is us? Sage doesn't need evidence to convict A-Train. She would just have to accuse him and he would be dead. She is not interested in innocent lives, which has been seen in the 3 demonstrators beaten to death. Sage KNOWS that A Train gives out information and I think she lets him do it. If he uses it to dig his own grave without her help, that's okay for her and she also wants to pass the information outside. I think it's all part of her plan to destroy Vaught. Why? Because she hates Vaught for what they did to her. It's not great to be the smartest person in the world and certainly not great to have to lobotomize to feel normal for a moment. Sage already holds the most important positions in the company. She is the CEO, in control of the marketing and security and since today also of the news because of the death of the fake spy. Interestingly, because A Train has come under pressure through Sage. It's all a big plan. The only wildcard for her is Homelender. It will remain a mystery to me why Newman didn't just pop all the sheep. That's no problem for them at all. She did that with a chicken and in season 2 with a lot of people and also some Sup's in the courtroom. They would therefore still have the last dose of the virus now. Such simple plot holes bother me.
@therealangelalexander18586 ай бұрын
I'm gonna assume the reason Newman didn't headpop all those sheep is because she has to be looking at her target in order to pop their heads or something? In that regard it'd be pretty difficult to keep your eyes following around several sheep flying around at ungodly speeds. She very easily could've turned and looked at everyone who's heads were being popped in the courtroom, she was looking directly into the window to stare at the church guy whos head she popped at the end of season 2 and she was looking at the chicken that flew towards Edgar. I could be wrong though.
@TomTomson816 ай бұрын
@@therealangelalexander1858 Okay, that's a good explanation, but we also know that the popping is not limited to the head. She just seems to like it. She can burst the whole body, as we have already seen with her former boyfriend. They don't have to stand particularly still either. A chicken is much smaller and she had no problems with that. The sheep weren't that fast either. I say it would have been doable for her. But I accept the concern for her own safety, because something can always go wrong and she has a daughter to take care of.

The bunny I think hints at there being some sort of side effect when you take temp V and then regular V, because that's the correlation between it and Butcher. Maybe the regular V does something with the dead brain matter, turning it into the parasites or something. Firecracker's powers are the sparks and her being just stronger than regular humans. Unless she's hiding something else but I don't think there's any reason to believe that? Not sure why you thought so but maybe I've missed something during the truthcon episode. 43:15 Aaaaaand that totally confirmed it for me that Kessler is not real. That was totally a "who the hell is this lunatic talking to" expression. Unless the writers throw us viewers one red herring after another here.

I will say I did NOT expect them to do Hugh like this story line. I was thinking it was going to be similar to Hughie’s from last season where “defenseless man gets powers and abuses them” except because Hugh is much older than Hughie I thought he wasn’t going to have that restraint that Hughie gained. (I’m not saying Hugh was going to be a murderer but just really cocky and kinda an asshole. Like a complete foil to his original self)

Yay, WE are watching The Boys on *SATURDAY.* Ryan ask her to slap Adam Bourke is pretty satisfying (32:22).

In this show, I was surprised by Hugh's dads' death scene. I was expecting some crazy shit to pop off...but it did not, and it was a really powerful death scene. Great episode.

I had been wondering why they had Simon Pegg in a coma for 4 eps ... well now I understand. What a performance.

Remember that Temp-V only supplies powers for around 24 hours.

A lot of people have really been harping on Frenchie's arc this season.. I personally love it. Fact is that the man has been self-medicating for decades at this point, primarily to get over his past work as a contract killer - but also what is clearly childhood traumas and various forms of child abuse - this episode is pretty much the first real instance of him dealing with it and throwing a wrench in the cycle.. albeit in a pretty extreme way. It makes all sorts of sense that the character finds himself where he is now.. frankly, it's pretty incredible that it took this long for them to tackle these issues on the show itself.. but thankfully, here we are. I think some people (unfortunately a loud minority) hasnt quite grasped the fact that the underlying theme of the show is the coming together of a lot of broken people - powered people, and normal folks. All the shenanigans and hooplah is just windowdressing.

I like that Frenchie is the only one taking responsibility for his own actions. The rest of them blame their bad upbringing but he admits to himself that he chose to do bad things.

@@alphanerd7221 Pretty sure Butcher has killed as many people as Frenchie. Probably MM too - they're both CIA.

I like the cop that Frenchie confesses to immediately understands that this isn't a joke, a prank, or a delusion. This is a fully serious man here to confess what he's done, and she treats him accordingly.

There’s a theory that Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s character isn’t real, like how Butcher is hallucinating his wife who’s acting like an angel on his shoulder, he’s also hallucinating Joe Kessler, who is acting like a devil on his shoulder

Simon Pegg's Performance in this episode Top Notch! As Sad as the Whole Part with Hughes dad. This way He was able to Have Some Closure With them being able to Say their Goodbyes. (Something I Wished. I had when My Parents passed. ) But, Still was Heartbreaking! Also, His Dad Confirmed His Mother Tried to get back into Hughes Life. My Opinion or Theory - I think the Bunny and that Temp V Was More of a Red herring. As the Bunny had a Bag of ''Temp''. And seemed to have Been injected with Half of that Bag? (Maybe More than 10 time's the amount Both Hughie and Butcher took in Season 3) I think Billys Cancerous Cells (From the Temp ) Ended up Mutating from'' Compound V'' Into a Similar Parasite. But One that Is Bounding to Billy. And Possibly Feeding off Billy's Emotions Using the 2 Biggest Influences Of Billy Butcher's Life to Communicate to Him in the form of Hallucinations. Becca and Kessler (One Positive and One More (Season-1 Butcher) Extremist ie Negative) Butcher Maybe Slowly Getting V Abilities But only when His Life is Truly Threatened. I could be Wrong. But if anything I hope Billy doesn't Have a Venom like Appearance. (It would be cool if the Parasite Makes Butcher Look More Like a Crazed super powered Animated Corpse. With a Healing Factor an No rotted Body parts Just a Greyish Hue to his Skin with Yellow eyes! LMAO.

@funnylilgalreacts did you mess with a monkey's paw or something this week? The last episodes you've watched on the channel you've asked for Dad's to stop dying and they keep dying lol.

She wasn't fighting Annie because she had to be a punching bag, to expose Annie on Camera. Sage told her to do that if Annie showed up. It was all part of Sage's plan.

I felt so bad when you talked so brokenly, about it being a bad week for dads on your channel because I knew what was coming😢 I'm really worried that the leg that was found, is cut too neatly - not ragged like an animal tearing Sameer apart. That scene with Homelander and Ryan walking through a sprawling area of the building, talking about them being the only 2 in existence, so empty that you could almost hear the echoes, gave me chills. My family had to deal with my dad's decision for a DNR and I know how damn difficult it is to accept. I've kind of been living in Hughie's skin as this storyline unfolded and I hurt for him so much. Is it me, or did it seem like Joe Kessler was shot a bit differently this episode, seeming a little more ghostly? Wondering if Annie's powers are failing due to her emotional State or something else. Thrilled to see Stan again. His droll and dismissive " I have pottery class in 10 minutes", was so perfectly Stan Edgar and I loved every second, every gold nugget, he gave us. I have to mention the closing song; not only was the subject matter hysterically perfect, but the most old fashioned, light and innocent and pure song for children of a bygone era. It was ridiculous and brilliant and sadly, flew over the heads of a number of reactors I've watched so far.🤦🤷
