Dude, you smashed it. Brian Downey had a really unique style. Always seemed so simple, but very difficult to play. Thanks for taking the time to share.

Those stabs are so hard with an e kit lmao
@brucenlittlepictures9 жыл бұрын
This is one of those deceptively difficult songs. When you listen to it, it sounds so easy, just because of how well the drummer nailed the original track, but in reality, the groove is so tight and locked in that it makes it really tough to cover and do it justice. Great job!
@DomenicNardone9 жыл бұрын
+brucenlittlepictures Thanks! You're right. I thought it was going to be simple, but it's got a somewhat tricky shuffle groove with some cool open high hat stabs!

I just wanted to let you kno that I appreciate you taking the time to make this video. I'm a drummer of 35 + yrs doing originals but recently a close friend asked me to sit in with them because their drummer flaked out! So I had 2 days to learn this this song and if it wasn't for this I probably wouldn't have been able too! All of the angles, clear video, timing ect is exactly what I needed to learn this fantastic song. (I've heard it my entire life) but seeing you play it made it a snap to play! Well done my friend and keep it up! Did I mention that it's a contest? Winners take door! Lol Thanks! P.S. it's a "band roulette" where all the musicians in our city put their names in a hat and drew for members? All genres of music so it makes for an interesting band line up!

Domenic, thank you for your video. It really helps to understand the tune (drum track). Your shuffle is very good, playing open hi-hat accurate with different time of being open within a beat... great! I only wonder are you sure that the last part of the song (from 3:30) your hi-hat is exact like in original version? Playing across toms sounds also great. Like your MAChair :). Great work, thank you!
