Unfortunately, too many southerners believe that the IRA were not active in Ulster. What they fail to recognise is that in Ulster the IRA had not only to fight the British army and RIC but 1m British loyalists of whom many if not most were armed.

100% agree, if anything the Northern division and the people of ulster have always been the most rebel part of ireland. Too many southerns are partitionist now day's. And sat idly by when their brothers and sisters in the six counties where facing much much more cruelty and attacks than ever happened during the war of independence.
