I totally `grasped the situation` that this scene is absolute perfection. Two comedy geniuses who totally eclipse anybody from the modern age. Timing, grace, humility, and a wonderful sense of innocence permeate through this sketch from start to finish.

There was just ONE time back in the 1980s, KCET ch. 28 showed the silent version of this movie, Men of War (1929), and I seemed to like the silent way better than sound - so why can't the other way be available too?
@ExplorerDS67896 жыл бұрын
I believe when sound first became available, not all theaters were equipped to accommodate it, so they made silent prints to compensate. So when all theaters were finally able to play sound, the back-up silent prints were obsolete. It would be like if when color TV first came around, they make two prints of one show: one in color, the other in black and white for those who couldn't yet afford the luxury of color TV... and it was a BIG luxury back in the day... and by the 1980s, most everybody had color, so the B&W back-ups were obsolete.
