@@Melodicroger no remember the V.P’s husband was supposed to make it strong enough to kill Homelander but he couldn’t bring himself to do it so he made it strong enough to use to escape. Which he did when he put it in her leg thus using. Remember Frenchie takes her leg off and brings it back to the group. The group then asks Frenchie he can take it out of the cut off leg and make it strong enough to use it on Newman as their last hope. He says “maybe,” and that’s when Annie says we have spent all this time on this and all we have is a maybe. So in episode 8 he makes it strong enough to use on Newman. However soon as it’s finished is when Newman tries to get. So yeah it was never strong enough to take Homelander.

My guess is that Sage has already put a slow burn version of the virus into the drugs Firecracker is taking to be able to make the milk. How could she know about his fetish unless Sage had uncovered the secret? Maybe it’ll weaken him at least.

Grace, the first shapeshifter sequence is a reference to Kripke’s other show, Supernatural. Jensen Ackles performs a similar sequence in a sewer where he rips his skin off to transform and in the supernatural universe shapeshifters get their counterparts memories too. It was the first time I’ve really for a second felt like I was watching supernatural again haha

i think frenchie said that the virus he made would be enough to weaken but not kill Homelander and that it could possibly take out Neuman - thus, her being the primary target. the original scientist that made the virus had explained, however, that a virus that would be strong enough to kill Homelander would end up being airborne and be a death sentence for all Supes. i think that may be where your confusion is coming in ... second virus was not the super duper virus

Homelander is invincible as long as Sage is on his side. So the boys needs to either kill her or flip her to their team.

Grace! Frenchie already said in Episode 7 at 51:30 that the virus is not powerful enough for Homelander but it could possibly kill Neuman. So the best it could do is weaken Homelander for Ryan. And since it is not strong enough to kill Homelander it would not go airborne and cause a genocide which is why Frenchie was willing to use it on Neuman wih Kimiko still in the room.

I think Ashley will become a take on Jack from Jupiter with her being bald, a red head similar to Jack having orange skin and her wanting to protect herself and Jacks power was invulnerability. I think the match ups will be the Gen V kids going against each other, Ryan and Soilder Boy vs Homelander, Starlight vs Firecracker, the rest of the boys and A-Trains vs the rest of the seven, and I think Butcher will try to release the virus maybe even get some one to make it airborne and Hughie will have to stop him himself.

Soldier boy and Ryan weakens Homelander which allows Butcher to force Homelander and himself into a vault where it shields the virus from everyone else. Butcher sacrifices himself so he can finally be with Becca/save Ryan and Homelander dies like he was raised…. In Confinement, THE END!

I thought it was pretty clear that the virus would have to be made airborne to be strong enough specifically for Homelander. They quickly moved away from that because of the casualties. Nothing stops Butcher from going back to that but yeah the final virus was always meant for Neuman by the Boys so it didn't need to be airborne yet.

Great season finale! I can see Butcher killing every super with himself, Ryan and Homelander with just Kimiko surviving thanks to her healing factor even creating a cure ala Wolverine and the technovirus at X-men original animated series, with maybe Starlight surviving at the end as well.

season 4 was solid, i think between seasons 3 and 4 the boys has gotten alot of new fans that have had the pleasure of binging the previous 3 seasons, this show has always had slow episodes and season 4 is just the same. still amazing.

Season 4 was amazing. I know sometimes we use movies and shows to escape reality but I love the political commentary between the incredible character arcs, aka Starlight, A-Train, Butcher, and even Homelander. And for people upset about the politics now then you've never fully understood the show to begin with because the elements have always been there. I mean the main character is the flying American flag! It doesn't get anymore political than that and the kind of character Homelander is makes for an interesting simile with the current state of America, it's what makes this show so enjoyable. Sad that we're only getting one more season of this. I hope it's at least 10 episodes long
