This is why you are one of my favorite KZbinrs. Most guys show you a lot about making blades but very little about handles. Making and putting on scales is my favorite part of knife making. Great job as always 👍

It was super funny when you said you don't blink during grinding -- I hold my breath actually to the point of getting light headed etc. -- and then I remember I've been holding my breath for minutes at the time!!!! a bad habit I'm trying to break for sure. Keep up the amazing work, just subbed to BP.

Hey Matt, Generic question, but, have you tried the VSM Blue destroyer/Brodbeck Incinerator 36 grit belts? Same thing rebranded I think…just wondered what you thought of them vs. the red label ceramics? Thanks!

I need some advice. I did a heat treatment on the 2nd and 3rd knife I'm making. I did it exactly the same as I did my 1st knife which came out hard. For some reason the 2nd and 3rd knives were not as hard. A file will slightly file the surface of 2&3 when it wouldn't on #1. it seems these last blades 2&3 did not harden as much as #1. Should I repeat the hardening process again or just temper and see how they are to work with finishing them?

Re heat treat them. Make sure ur temp was correct

@@gentrycustomknives8008 Temp was a shade brighter color after they went non magnetic. I did my first one like that and it was plenty hard. Maybe they are harder than I thought. After tempering I tried to drill a small hole that would be hidden by scales. The drill which easily made holes before heat treating would not even make a dimple. I guess it must be hard..? Going to proceed with finishing and scales etc. Hopefully they will hold a good shave sharp edge like my first. In one of your videos you mentioned you sometimes talk on the phone to your audience. You strike me as a very bright young man. I would really like to have someone I could call for advice or when I have questions I can't find answers to on the Internet. If you would share your number it would be much appreciated and I promise not to abuse the priveledge. I'm almost 75 years, the old school type and show respect and consideration. Thank you.
