In this ridiculous scene from the ABC TV-Movie "Come on, Get Happy", The Partridges take the family bus to a show down with The Brady Bunch. An event which, needless to say, never happened

Wish they really had an episode where the Bradys see The Partridge Family at a concert & meet them after. I could see Greg falling for Lori & Marcia crushing on Keith.
@Paul88203 жыл бұрын
Seems like a crossover between the two shows was a missed opportunity.
@MultiAnimationdude3 жыл бұрын
No, what was a missed opportunity was to have this film set in the present day (a la The Brady Bunch movies) and have the Partridge bus take a wrong turn into WB's lot instead of Paramount's. Care to guess what would have happened next?

I couldn't pick one over the other. I grew up with and loved both families.
@h193013 Жыл бұрын
If they were able to do this after both shows ended I’d like to them do this with The Addams Family and The Munsters. That is a crossover I have always dreamed about. It would also be neat if they did this with Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie but The Addams Family/Munsters would be a priority for me.

Allegedly, Elizabeth Montgomery hated IDOJ and considered it a poor knockoff of her show. So she probably never would've agreed to it.🤷🏽♀️

@@h193013True. But it would be hard to find anybody as beautiful as Elizabeth Montgomery or Barbara Eden. I watched Bewitched in reruns from the time I was 4. I always wanted to be like her and look like her. Just loved Bewitched.

As fuzzy cute as it looks for the Partridge bus to drive from the Columbia Ranch, then through Paramount's lot and discharge the cast -- NEVER would have happened -- AT LEAST that way. In reality, behind-the-scenes, each of the cast (plus adult guardians for the under-18 year olds) would have been put in limos or cast-and-crew vans, all air-conditioned vehicles driven -- following guidelines of negotiated contract between labor and management -- by members of Teamsters Local 399. Unless "Partridge" was filming a scene with the musical family riding the bus (with no A/C, which wasn't as common half a century ago) it would have only been one Teamster delivering the 'picture vehicle' from Burbank (Columbia Ranch) to Hollywood-adjacent Paramount Studios, on a narrow street within sight of "The Brady Bunch" stage. More TMI: At Paramount, if necessary, the director requests the "Partridge" cast hop on the bus, then, with cameras 'rolling,' they exit the bus in order to meet the Bradys -- captured on film 'for all time.'.

Yes, Schwartz definitely cashed in on the Partridge success by turning the Brady's into singers in their second season. Tho they didn't perform much on the show, the Bradies actually went on tour during the summer time - and unlike the Partridges, ACTUALLY sang and danced.

This probably never happened. What would have been the point other than to make an awkward situation?
@thewvnetwork3 жыл бұрын
You're right it never did happen exactly like this, but I'm certain at some point during the shows' years on the air they did do publicity of some type together for ABC. Many shows marketed together back then, and also did network image campaigns which are now--almost--a thing of the past. In the 1990s, Danny Bonaduce and Chris Knight, as adults, did duke it out in the ring for charity. Danny won. I'm certain this was probably a little nod to that.
