The character work and comic timing from Christine Taylor and Jennifer Elise Cox in this film is outstanding. They don't deliberately play lines for laughs, they actually invest in the truth of the characters which in turn makes it all the more hilarious. So, so good.

Do you always blame and ridicule girls who have others decieve them due to ther lustfull desires? Is everyone who think their friend is a friend and not just a pervert "self absorbed"???? Such an insane and hatefull thing to say. If your child was happy about their friend but the friend seemd to be wanting more, would tou call your child "self absorbed" ?? Or would you WARN THEM, that the people they trust have hidden motives???

@@audhumbla6927 I don't think it counts as a "hidden agenda" to have a crush on a friend but not act on it because they don't reciprocate those feelings. Also this is quite the overreaction to a comment meant to be taken as comedic instead of serious, take a moment to chill

@handwritingofunhingedgerbil621 Thats your perception, good for you. But you clearly have an ego problem, telling me my comment is an overreaction. Who tf are you? Who asked you? Why would I care? 90s movies had such a comforting vibe to them...I know it's mostly me looking through nostalgia glasses because I was born in 91, but still. The camera quality being somewhere between old school and modern made such a unique feel. Cant explain it. And the style back then. How everyone wore these like standard light colored Levi Jean's that weren't baggy nor tight, just straight fit. Plain Reebok shoes. Plain shirts with no logos. Plaid or solid ir striped. Just the whole vibe of EVERY movie in the 90s was just so relaxing to me. I just recently watched fried green tomatoes. Same feeling. Beethoven, the original first movie. Same. Goldeneye 007. Space jam. Good will hunting. 80s movies had a very comforting and similar vibe as well. But for being born in 91, the 90s movies were just perfect. Slightly fancier quality and the style. God I miss it. This movie was in 95 so that's right in the thick of it. It makes me so happy yet a bit sad. Melancholy
@musicaltheatergeek795 жыл бұрын
Then I recommend *The Highwaymen* on Netflix. It just came out. It's about the hunt for Bonnie & Clyde and stars Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson. But more importantly, it has that '90s nostalgia you described even though it takes place in the '30s. I experienced exactly that while watching the film. The cinematography. The costumes. The score. The whole thing was reminiscent of *Friend Green Tomatoes* and *A River Runs Through It.* It's the type of period dramas that were abundant in the '90s but the studios aren't investing in anymore.

Christine Taylor done a marvelous job as Marcia.

I liked the part where Marcia got Davy Jones to sing at the dance! I LMAO when the female teachers were right up there swooning over him! While the kids were thinking, "Who is this old geezer?!"

A few years ago I found out the guy who plays Greg is the voice actor for Prince Eric in The Little Mermaid.

I have never watched the original shows. I didn't even know about it. KZbin recommended this film to me and I'm delightfully hooked on it. I'm fascinated with them living stuck in the 70's oblivious that they are in the 90's.

Man, they really did so well with the casting for these two movies (not including the White House sequel). Even the actor for Doug Simpson looks like the original one!

Yes if Barbie was a real human that's pretty much exactly what she would look like. Christine Taylor was so perfect looking in this movie that she didn't even look real. I noticed in other movies like the Wedding Singer she doesn't quite look the same as in this movie. She should have always kept the Barbie look imo.
